My friend the Boers had nothing to do with apartheid, the British started it in 1906 "the segregation law" and the Afrikaners translate it to "apartheids wet", not the Boers!!

The Boers lost control of the Boer republics in 1902 against the British invader and never gained control again. Apartheid is Afrikaans for segregation and segregation was invented by the British.

@france98dude To be exact Verwoerd was a Dutchman (who emigrated to South Africa from The Netherlands), and it was the Dutch who implemented apartheid. No wonder the Dutch government in The Netherlands are so sympathic to the black africans in South Africa, simply because they have a guilty consience about apartheid.

it's easy, the boers were stupid enough to settle down in ZA instead of America, where they lost the magnificent chance to drag into slavity more african natives...but they really kicked it a notch by selling their annoying neighbors from their so called "new land" to the brits, whose eventually became into their landlords... who would it thought?
the boer means farmer, and the Afrikaaner are the people or nation that live in SA, not all Afrikaans people are boer (farmers)I hope I am right but that has been my understanding as a South African!!
