I'm back to tell you that I managed to reach 220 km/h on a highway. As you said there is no electronic limit to a certain maximum speed.

I own a VW CrossGolf. Same engine, 2.0 TDI.

In the car's manual, the maximum speed specified is around 190km/h. I didn't drive it faster than 180km/h but I am curious about one thing:

Is there any possibility that it might be electronicaly limited since the maximum speed specified is 190km/h or the car can do better than that regardless to what it's written in the manual?

My uncle has a Tiguan and I must say that even though its a great car, it's a bit slower than the Golf. A bit lazy. :)

If your car has the same engine, it can do better than 190km/h, there is no electronic limit, i think.

In the manual they always put less then the car does.

So you can try and see how far the car goes :)

Good engine. VW use it to many of their cars. In last summer i had chance to drive Tiguan 2.0 TDi . Higher weight worse aero but still nice performance :).
