  • I had the honor and privilege of seeing this live that night. I sat in the front row. And I'm only 19.

  • Mick foley was there as a fan. Mick Foley debut in 1987, great match by the way classic !

  • fucking awesome...just wished i could have been there

  • Tamina is doing good.

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST FIGHTS IN WWF HISTORY..PERIOD.

  • 1:45

  • wwf - always a thumbs down

the only good angles in the WWF involved Piper and Piper's best days were in the NWA

  • @gannable

If you watched nothing after 1989, maybe.

  • Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka's leap of faith.

  • wow i love you jimmy snuka

  • I heard that not only Mick Foley was there, but Tommy Dreamer and Bubba Ray Dudley were as well.

  • foley himself said he did. idk

  • The first ever cage match was in 1937 I think

  • on yeah, the black and white mags. in the 50s, we got matches from only the local territory on black and white tv. so we kids devoured the mags at the local supermarket or drugstore. those were our youtube.

  • i was ringside in 1972 at a studio match with the rookie jimmy snuka. in his corner? don muraco, whose still sported an amazing physique.

  • The stuff of legends. Compare this to that annoying over-achiver John Cena..........

  • Mick Foley hitchhiked to Wrestlemania 1

  • @TheShmonster According to the ever reliable Wikipedia, Foley débuted in June 1983 which would mean he had been in the business already for 4 months by the time of this match which would make it highly unlikely that he would hitchhike to Wrestlemania 2 years into his career saying this Foley claimed the "Jack" Foley & Les Thornton vs. The British Bulldogs match from '86 was only his 2nd match so who knows.

  • Legendary!

  • i watched this because The Rock said so

  • He made that leap look easy!!!

  • "No, wait... HE'S CLIMBING TO THE TOP OF THE STEEL CAGE!"

No neon lights, fireworks, babes in bikinis. Just Gorilla Monsoon, the Garden crowd, the story line, the wrestlers, the perfect confluence of events unmatched since.

  • جمييل

  • wow this has got to be the greatest moment in wrestling history

next to hulk slamming andre at detroit

  • How in the bluest of the blue hell can u dislike a classic???

    wow fuckin low life haters

  • Who needs Cena and Orton when you've got performers like Snuka and Muraco? This was the best Cage match I have ever seen.

  • wrestling is fake

  • Mick foley was in that crowd and look at him now

  • Comment removed

  • One of THE BEST MOMENTS in Wrestling History, hands down. This moment changed everything that we call wrestling today.

  • Same routine happened in Philly. I knew wrasslin' was scripted, but my Aunt insisted it was real!

  • Snuka was the MAN!

  • This match changed wrestling FOREVER!

  • I heard the first guy to successfully dive of a steel cage was Gypsy Joe. The guy is 77 now and still wrestles

  • This was not the first time someone had jumped from the top of a cage.

Sgt. Slaughter did it months before in tag team cage match in the NWA.

And I'm sure others did it before him as well.

  • This was such an amazing time for pro wrestling. Now stuff like this has been done to death. As popular and groundbreaking as it was, the Attitude Era put this kind of stuff to death, and raised peoples expectations to an unnecessary standard. Stuff like Foley falling off the cell shouldve never happened.

  • 50 people have been hit with a superfly splash

  • Who are the 50 idiots who put thumbs down?!

    Just fucking die!

Wrestling has never and will never be better than this again!!!!!!!

  • This was a shame, the WWE would never give Snuka a belt. bullshit

  • Bruno vs Graham 2/18/78 - Phila Spectrum. that is where they got the finish of this match from

  • Nothing like seeing Jimmy leap live. It took years for me to appreciate the talent it took to be a good heel and Muraco was one of the best during these times. I saw Muraco and Jimmy in a strap match at the Spectrum in 82. One of my favorites of all time.

  • thumbs up if the rock sent you here

  • @Armzan he sent me, but im not gonna give you a thumbs up :D

  • @dazeno24 :O youre mean!!!

  • Mick Foley, Tommy Dreamer and Buh Buh Ray Dudley were in attendance.

  • 1:46 i love RVD but this is the FUCKING FIVE-STAR-SPLASH

  • I have a lot of respect for the legends but in my opinion I do like todays wrestling alot better.

  • This is why I became a wrestling fan!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome. Wrestling was so much fun to watch in those days.

  • the greatest match ever........bar none

  • LEGEND

  • Best best ever long live Superfly Snuka!

  • One of the best moments ever.

  • THE best moment in HISTORY of professional wrestling BAR NONE!

  • this got me soooo hooked on wrestling back in the 80´s

old school.. I miss it like crazy

  • One of the best matches ever !!! Man I would of loved to be there !!

  • AH GAH FUCK! Sorry, had some fake and gay in my eye.

  • @xltattoolx fuck up clown probably just another mma hug and kisses fag lmao no elbows no headbutts fighting for fags pro wrestling aint real but its entertaining mma is for bums couldnt cut it in a boxing gym or a muay thai gym lmao

  • @wavecrashes

Your English is impeccable -_- I don't care for UFC. Nice assumption though, dumb ass :D But, I would rather watch that rather than this garbage. Bunch of dudes wearing tights, doing flips and falling down for each other. Yea...not gay at all.

  • Quite the best moment ever in a steel cage Snuka jumping off the top off it

  • This Is Wrestling. None Of That shit you see today

  • superfly foever

  • Bubba Ray Dudley was at the show in the front row, if part 1 was up you might be able to find him during the entrances.

  • Enjoy it. We'll never see good wrestling again thanx to Vince Mcmahon.

  • Wrestling at its best!

  • The REAL SUPERMAN, The SuperFly Jimmy Snuka.

  • Look up in the air, it a plane,,,It the SuperFly Jimmy Snuka,,,Fantastic .

  • Great classic wrestling by the best ever. Watching MSG wrestling live on tv with my dad was one of the highlights of my youth.

  • la primer lucha de hell in a cell

  • CLASSIC WRESTLING AT ITS BEST!!!

  • @GrangsterGang I was talking about the commentator saying that the height of the cage was larger every time he mentioned it

  • memories never die guys memories never die

  • iconic moment

  • Great post. The match that turned me into a wrestling fan. Best era ever was 1991 to 1999 WCW.

  • hey where's mick foley

  • @ermonski hes in the audience you dumb fuck

  • @DrFubarProzak hey no need to cuss on me man

  • @ermonski go away

  • @DrFubarProzak sure

  • Thanks for posting. This is my first memory of wrestling. Wish I would have saved the tons of WWF stuff I bought as a kid in the 80's. I guess I just thought it would always be great. I would never let my kids watch the attitude crap it became.

  • Anyone else notice how the height of the cage increased from 15ft when he jumped, then 18-20ft in the replay! Must be an enlarging cage!

  • I'd love to do that to my mother-in law!

  • i feel ripped off!!!! i thought snuka was gonna bounce up and go... "you cant see me!"

  • @psdaleno you're fucking a gay faggot wigger.

  • Muraco sold that well....

  • You'll never see this again....these days are gone.....watching it on saturday mornings was the best......black and white magazines.......young kids just dont know

  • @LPHALEN My thoughts exactly!!!!!

  • @LPHALEN Totally!!!!! I miss those Saturday morning wrestling days..

  • @LPHALEN i agree but dont forget it was pure squash matches

to see good matches it was pay per view

  • @LPHALEN I agree... THIS was wrestling.

  • @LPHALEN

Nah, you see better spots than this every week now. Jimmy shoulda done a flip or something.

  • @givebeesachance You do realize that this had NEVER been done before right? That's why this is in all of Snuka's highlights. What are you talking about "flip"? Nobody had even done a moonsault in the WWE at this time. All of the high flying moves you mention were made after the late 80's.In other words Snuka pioneered flying off the top of the cage.BTW Snuka was a former U.S. Champ, a tag team champ, and was the first to hold the ECW championship.

  • @givebeesachance Just stop. Seriously, get out. I'm 16 and I think you're an idiot.

  • @LPHALEN Hell yeah....Sat mornings ruled. The wrestler mags.....man....great times and memories!

  • @LPHALEN I must agree, I am 29 years old, this was the greatest match in the history of cage matches. Saturday Morning, oh yeah. 20 ft high on the prone body of magnificant muraco. Gorilla Monsoon, ugh. There was just something about it. I used to watch it on the weekends on VHS from the rental store. I grew up with George the animal Steel. Turnbuckle as food! Remember....Here comes the Axe.....here comes the smasher! The Tag Team of Demolition. Those were the good old days.

  • Isn't this the match that Mick Foley hitchhiked to? He mentions it in his (I think) 1st book.

  • Yep it is, he even got a front row set.

  • Yup. This is the match. A true classic.

  • The Superfly was an all around class act, and a damn fine worker in and out of the ring!

  • @ryanhitmanfury Yes, this is the match.

  • @ryanhitmanfury yea he's wearing his red flannel

  • @ryanhitmanfury yes. Foley as well as Bubba Ray Dudley and Tommy Dreamer was there.

  • @ryanhitmanfury Tommy Dreamer was here too i think

  • @ryanhitmanfury

    yes it is :P

  • @ryanhitmanfury yup, in the movie blood stained memoirs 2009 they tell the story

  • @ryanhitmanfury yep. Tommy Dreamer and Bubba Ray Dudley in crowd also

  • @ryanhitmanfury - Please people, stop informing me of Dreamer and Bubba Dudley being in the crowd that day too. I've received many emails telling me so I think I know now!!!

  • There was this "Spot"

Then there was every other "Spot" in the history of wrestling

Back then, wrestlers NEVER left the mat, for any reason

    R. Kelly didn't believe he could fly

    Until he saw this match!

    Superfly believed he could fly

    And he was right!

  • Now THAT is hardcore!!!!

  • Superfly has done a few Leaps off of the top of many cages, and trust me, the wear and tear on your knees and body is not FAKE

  • @ LukeDobbins

Scripted is only partly the 'better term to use'.

I mean, the dude throws himself on the ground as soon as the other one hardly hits him, or sometimes not at all.

  • I thought it was K1 or something similar to it. My bad.

  • and today even the lowest card wrestler will kick out from that belly splash... =(

    wrestling is ruined.

  • Drunkgorilla- I agree with you 100%! When he jumped Superfly was forever! Couldn't have said it better!

  • Wow that was a great leap! That shit woulda hurt anyone!

  • Fake wrestling is fuckin gay.

Get a life, to everyone who likes this.

  • @Leontius jumping onto rock hard canvas from ten feet in the air is fake?

getting stabbed 3 inches from the heart because the crowd hates you, is fake?

getting 8 concussions from taking steel chairs to the head, is fake?

breaking your hip because of suplexes and bodyslams, is fake?

getting your leg broken the first day of training, to teach you a lesson, is fake?

What movie is your favourite? Is that fake?

Matches outcomes are predetermined because of business, but the danger is real.

  • "Matches outcomes are predetermined because of business, but the danger is real. "

Exactly. This makes it even lamer.

    Seriously, what's the point?

    "You'll lose tonight."

"-Oh, kay, this is going to be quite an exiting match!"

Getting stabbed 3 inches from the heart by the crowd? That's some serious fucked up shit, this proves how much people are really into this fake stuff. Which isn't really surprising, if you're a fan, you obviously like it..

  • People watch for the personalitys, the drama, and the in ring performance of the wrestlers NOT to see "whos gonna win". They watch it from an entertainment aspect not from a sport aspect if you get what i mean. Its basically no different than a tv show or live stunt show with characters and storylines and what not just in a "pro wrestling" type of setting.

  • I think the dudes who are in the ring, realize the danger of the 'game' themselves, noshit..

But the fake slapping and hitting makes me switch the channel right away.

Though, I've once seen a dude getting thrown off the ring on the jury's table (I think), it was made out of glass, it obviously broke when he fell on it. That hurts.

  • great wrestler but bosses do not want him to become a champion.

  • Good

  • صراحه خووش مصارع ذكرني بأيام الطفوله كل اسبوع تشتري له شريط بس خوووش طيره

  • Squiggly lines to you too carpet flyer.

  • @humood121 wtf??

  • Well done!!! It reminds me of Rey Mysterio's WWE debut. He did the same jump off of a cage.

  • I saw this in the "related videos", and this is probably the first wrestling video I've seen the whole year. Well... for a whole year (since it's 2010 XD), and man. Are wrestling videos really like this? *Points down* DO THE COMMENTS ALWAYS WRESTLE, TOO!? *______*

  • Superfly!!! What legends are made of!!!

  • After he jumped, Snuka Was Forever.

    Superfly Superfly!

  • Compare this to todays WWE. It's pathethic to see what kind of company they have become. So fake you can taste it.This however was entertainment, and listen to the crowd compared today!

  • I love all the people saying its fake its fake... no shit... 98% is scripted but not all the moves are fake. Sure they pull punches but there is no green screens when you jump from a top of a cage.

thats why most end up pretty much crippled by the time they retire. I love to see any of you jump from a 15ft cage and not feel it..

  • im sorry to pop your bubble but, they honestly dont get as hurt jumping off a 15 foot cage.. the ring has layers of padding and springs and the wrestlers have padding themselves.. and also they're fake muscles is also a padding too.. and no shit theres no green screen haha xD and also i prolly wont get as hurt also if i tried it myself...

  • @WhatSheWanted go ahead... do it.. put on your Halloween muscle suit like you think they wear and jump..

  • I WILL... no ones stopping me. haha

  • you are a fucking idiot.. tell that to chris benoit.. who had real BRAIN DAMAGE from taking chair shots and falling to the ring head first.. fucking moron.

  • was i talking about fucking chairs? no i wasn't.. IDIOT. and tell what to chris benoit? that he fell face first to the ring? does that really solve anything? why dont you do it.. its your idea lol

  • fake fake faaaaaaaaaake !!!

  • Keep ove fate

  • shegecit

  • noone ever claimed snuka was smart just a hard head with tremendous leaping ability still a classic tho

  • supa supa supa supa fly!!! classic love this stuff!

  • This is when wrestling was wrestling..true heart and soul stuff right here. Superfly Snuka, S.D. Jones. Sgt.Slaughter...thegood ole days.

  • Jimmy the Superfly Snuka! Woo

  • Get out of here & spead your Mulsim plaque elsewhere...Islam is sh*t, hopefully all Muslims will be wiped off the earth soon.

  • SOOOOOOOO FUCKING FAKE

  • @bascetman just as fake as anything else on tv...

  • That was an amazing match. OMG!!!

  • it's more realistic then wrestling from our days!!! sorry for my english!!!!

  • why do people enjoy this? do those commentators really are so excited or are they playing the game along?

  • If you Smell what the Snuka is cooking?!

  • chicken curry?

  • lol...thats Jimmy Superfly Snuka!

  • lol....i remember this stuff....it was the best entertainment there was back then...thanx for the flashback...

  • i just had some breakfast,and its mmm,mmm,bwoooshh!

  • I was in 6th grade when this match happened. My dad was a Muraco fan and I was a Snuka fan. I had a BIG crush on Jimmy Snuka!

  • back when wrestling was great... I miss does days.

  • Snuka really paved the way for guys like RVD and the like. He was something else.

  • we will never find out how low is the IQ of the people who watch that fake sport...because we are talking about IQ lower than apes...

  • kurap

  • Comment removed

  • wtf is with this shit bout germans nd nazis?

  • These fighters do not last even two minutes with Tyson, which is of course not the same as before, but still earning them a hand

  • Snuka is such an adorable name for a giant ass-kicking wrassler.

By the way, wrestling is scripted, but they still run the risk of injuring or killing themselves. Remember Owen Hart?

  • Man this sport scks, it's so fcking fake

  • Boo

  • thanx

  • gjfy67

  • I was at this match when I was 15! If I remember right my seats were about 10 rows from the ring. I saw many great wrestling events at the Garden when I was a kid.

  • U know how it called? It called fake..

  • idiots for idiot people like the americans.

  • You're the definition of an Idiot.

Nobody is proud about the WW2 and what happened there!

  • @hualni You are an appocaliptic dumbass! It was not the Germans who claim the guilt for the murders of Hitler. It was Hitler himself. He was the mastermind behind everything that went on in Germany. Right now, in Germany, if you do the Hitler salute, you're as good as dead.

Oh, and how about this in your face, American government is not much better off. They just find craftier, more concealed ways to murder. Germans are not a problem, idiots like you are.

  • Did hitler fight by himself? No. That is like saying the Manson family is innocent because Charles Manson claimed responsibility. He had an entire nation behind him and his hate speech. A lot of the haters from that era are still alive and preaching their hate to their kids. Uninformed idiots like you are motivation for why I believe in order to vote one must own property. America is the greatest Nation on Earth. That is why EVERYONE wants to live here. The problem is idiots like you dude.
