  • Look at everyone fighting over a RC truck. NICE! Relax.

  • your an idiot, it is indeed a crawler, i work for axial though i was not on the design team, was still involved as far as ideas go for this truck, and it was designed to go wherever it is that you would like it to go, whether that be a rock course, the desert, or simply a driveway. do a little more research before you go off giving the wrong information please

  • @GRIZZLYWINTDIPPER LOL for one YOU DON'T work for Axial...Your a 18 year old kid who likes to troll. For two Axial put this tuck out as a "TRAIL TRUCK" Trail truck meaning driving on paths and trails for a realistic scale looking truck for the "scale builders" because when they put this truck out the scale part of RC was getting huge. They said in print adds this is not a crawler it's for the realistic truck builder. But it has very slight crawling capabilities.Nice try though.

  • NOT really a crawler??? I was under the impression that this was supposed to be one of the best crawlers out there.

I even chose this over HPI's Crawler King because of the things I read about it and videos I've seen of both models.

If this is not really a crawler then, I'm going to have a hard time explaining to my local HS that I no longer want the truck that they ordered for me.

Yours looks good though. How much for the body that you aren't going to use?

  • @Psycausis The Axial AX10 is the crawler. The SCX10 is a "Trail Truck". It's for more trail running and looking more like a real truck then a competition crawler. The body was sold a while back.

  • @awamrblack, I see... Would you recommend the SCX10 to someone who played with Stompers, Rough Riders and a Crimson Crusher as a child?

Because those are the kinds of toys that inspired me to love off-road trucks.

  • @Psycausis Yes for sure you'll love it.

  • @awamrblack, I certainly hope so. I also hope I can find a dodge Ram '74-'80 body style to put on it. Until then, I'll probably go with a Durango or Jeep Cherokee Wagoneer. I would get the Camanche but, it's just too darn pricey.

  • @Psycausis it is a crawler but its not a comp crawler

  • @hunna122, Yeah... Found that out the hard way. Should've done a little more research before I made that comment.

I know now that the comp crawlers must be those -no offense to anyone who has one- weird looking ones that have the stretched out suspensions and over-size tires with a tiny body in the middle.

Not that I haven't seen some that look alright but, I wanted the type that looks like an actual street legal vehicle but, I see what you guys mean now.

The SCX10 isn't for huge rocks.

  • Hey great video! I'm looking at buying one of these. They do ok on smaller rocks from seeing what I have in videos. The ax10 gets over stuff no problem but it doesn't look real like the scx10. Over all on a scale of 1-10 what would you give it? I want a crawler I can take off roading with me and drive around my yard. You think this truck would be good for that?

  • @Joester1908 If your going to take it around the yard and small rock trails I'd give it an easy 9 close to a 10. But with alittle work here and there a 10.

  • @awamrblack Awesome! thanks for the review!

  • you have the shock spacers in the wrong spot on top of the shock they go on the inside of the shock against the shock hoop so when it flexes the shock wont hit the frame put them in the right spot and you will get just a touch more flex not hateing just trying to help

  • @xxkoolaidman It's ok I did that so it wouldn't flex so much....The body didn't hit as bad that way.

  • which esc do you use? what cost?

  • @MrBenschKe It's a Novak Rooster ESC it was like $89.00

  • @TomDonson Not hard at all. It shows you how in the instructions I think.

  • thats pretty cool, i have a ax10 axial with that same body but my fenders are cut to let it have alittle more flex

  • what doesn't come with the kit

  • @retardproductions515 All the electronics.

  • i mean stock how much flex can it flex 4 inches or wat

    ?

  • @MCgangsta11 It's more like 1 1/2 inches maybe 2 before the rear wheel comes off the ground.

  • how much can it articulat or flex?

  • @MCgangsta11 Well it all depends on what shocks you use.Softer springs means more flex. But as a trail rig there not really ment to have alot of articulation. But with spring work and link bar work you can get quite a bit.

  • one mor thing could I put on a 1987 trinity monster horsepower electric motor instead of the original motor?

  • @The88drunkredneak Well as long as it's a 550 size motor. But no moter comes with the kit style truck only the RTR one. So just check and see if the motor will bolt on and if it does and you can adjust the mesh go for it.

  • this video helped me to decide on what trail truck to get:) I really like this truck. I probably will get this. I have a vintage tamiya Nissan king cab truck I custom panted blue/wight really nice look I could put on it if I get it. for a more real look:) that Velcro tip is really cool!

  • @The88drunkredneak Thanks glad I could help

  • would a 20t motor fit out of a older stampede and electronics fit into a scx-10 kit.

  • @hammell557 YEP that will fit great

  • would a 20t motor fit out of a older stampede and electronics fit into a scx-10 kit

  • do u think he could say "uhhh" a couple more times?

  • @2harobikes23 I could if you really want me too....there I just said it like 50 more times just for you..lol

  • it is better the acx10 kit or th RTR?

i need to know it cause i'm getting one in christmas so i need to know what's the best option to me.

  • @rabfs If you're new to the hobby go with the RTR. If you have your own electronics and like building stuff get the kit.

  • @rabfs u should get the RTR its alot of fun and pretty powerful, wat i like is there are many changeable parts. Good luck happy trails!

  • do u get all the parts with the truck(not talking about electronics) or do u have to "PRODUCE" SOME PARTS?

  • @indianrc Yes all came with it.

  • how much was this truck

  • hey idk if you remember me, but you helped me out when i started of with the rc hobby, anyways i wanted to know what battery you would recommend i buy for my traxxas slash (preferably 7-cell), and do u know of anyway i can remove the pinion gear(its the small one right??) btw (the hex screw is kinda messed up) thx in advance!

  • wats build time

  • @zackeueo I took my time and did it in an afternoon.

  • how much(long) run time do you get out of this kit. getting mine in a few weeks, sweet,

  • @deano386 It all depends on what battery you buy.The higher the MAH number on the battery the longer it will run.

  • wow i actually never thought of mounting a body that way and i been doing rc stuff since i was like 7 thats awesome

  • the proline body is it meant for the stampede or tmaxx

  • @skaterock1234 Well they make different ones. The one for a stampede is 1/10th scale and one for the T/E/ MAXX, REVO, & Savage... is the bigger of the 2 so it's more like a 1/8th scale body. But it fit's a 1/10th scale frame better. It looks more scale.

  • Watched this and helped me decide to get the SCX10, thanks. I've attched video of mine - I decided to stick with the Kustom Body. Love the two tone body on yours and clever mountings. Thanks

  • @rcBitz Thanks man...Glad I could help

  • where did u get the body beacuse i want 1 its awsome

  • @TheJigSawDO6473 The Chevy body is made by Proline.I got this one from a hobby shop. But they sell them on ebay for like 22-24 bucks.

  • Hello. What battery are you using? What's the top speed with this 55t motor?

  • @scotttlp I'm using a Venom 3600 Nimh 7.2..And the top speed is about 3-4 mph.But with this type of truck it's not about speed. To me anyway..

  • Question:

What is the advantage of mounting the steering servo on the chassis (other than looks) ?

  • @xxgg Nothing....It actually hurts the steering..Think of it this way. You can slide a weight easier on a flat surface then you can up a hill right? The steering linkage with the servo on the frame is at an angle making it harder on the servo to do it's job efficiently. But it does look better with the servo on the frame when doing a true hardcore scale looking truck....LOL

  • can u make a vid on how to get rid of the green of the beadloacxk and stuff

  • @mechqeust It's pretty easy..Just get a can of heavy duty Easy off over cleaner.Put you're parts in a Box, pan, or just lay them on newspaper. Do this in a well ventilated area and don't get the spray on you I wear rubber gloves.Spray your parts and let set for 15-20 min. and check them to see if it's coming off.I just use paper towels to wipe.Once you're happy with how much is gone. flip them over and repeat.

  • is this a good truck

  • @mechqeust Yes it is.

  • is this a good truck

  • thanks you and your video have been a good help i look forward to seeing more.

  • @markie620 Thanks.

  • do you know if the 27t axial motoer will work with the traxxas xl5 esc

  • @markie620 Sure will.

  • thanks for your reply

  • Do you know how to mount traxxas waterproof esc and servo on the scx10 rtr

  • @markie620 The servo mounts the same way the one that is already on there does. And the esc just replaces the factory one so when you take the factory one off put it there. If it won't fit there anywhere that the wires will reach to the receiver and battery should be fine. And as for mounting it Velcro, and zip ties work fine.

  • does it come with servos and controller?

  • @theglitchen No it doesn't.

  • How did you take off the anidization? sanding?

  • Heavy duty Easy off oven cleaner..spray them good and thick let them set for 25-30 min. and wipe off.then flip the parts over and do it again.Just keep an eye on them and check on them every 5 min. or so.

  • How are you liking your Novak Rooster ESC? I've heard there some people are having glitchy problem at very very very low speed when you are about to go foward, how about you? Also, what tooth spur and pinion?

By the way, is that ESC water proof enough that it can take on some water splashes?

  • @xxgg No the esc isn't water proof. And I love the Rooster I had some glitching at first but I moved my antenna and that fixed it.I've even heard of guys getting different servos and fixing the glitch.Or just moving there ESC as far from the receiver as possible.

  • You have a sexy voice.

  • LOL...... thank you

  • u can waterproof your electronis if you cover them in liquid electrical tape i did it on mine and i havent had any problems with water

  • Yeah that works.I use plasti dip.

  • where can i bye the chasiss???

  • is that truck all stock?

  • Yes it is.the electronics didn't come with it.but the kit it self is all stock.

  • One more question:

Is this KIT a water proof? I mean, I guess you would want to drive it into water, mud etc...

If not, I would love to see you do a video on how to water proof the truck,

    Thanks again!

  • the kit it self is ok to go in water but you'll need to water proof your electronics.

  • Question:

You've said it's all plastic other than frame but that is OK, isn't it? I mean unlike regular RCs... it won't be drive as fast as it can go or insane torque to wheelie and such.

Isn't it? I am only asking because i plan to get one myself.

    Great video as always! :D

  • creat video. i like a lot. more these kind of videos please

  • I'll see what I can do.

  • is this hard to build? and do all the parts come with the kit?

  • Everything but the electronics come in the kit..And if you can use basic hand tools, and follow directions you can build this truck.

  • hey im looking for a rc trail truck waterproof and will go fast if u can help me thank you

  • traxxas summit. 100% water proof and fast with great features. but not cheap

  • Sorry but nothing is 100% water proof....Like the motor isn't sealed, And the battery plugs don't have any kind of seal either. But I have a Summit and you're right it's a great truck.

  • thanks

  • hey mate i wont to put a 5.5 trune brusless in my scx tr evey thing is stock do u think it will hurt it at all

  • It should be ok...My buddy put a 7 turn in one and it does great.

  • this truck is on ebay

  • Yes it is...LOL and still looks new.I made the lower links longer to fit the hpi bodies.

  • now i have been looking at this truck for sometime now, an i noticed theres the

    scx10, and the scx10 tr(trail ready).

is the scx10 tr pre-assembled or are you not sure. and if it is pre-assembled is there a big difference between the two trucks as far as the set up in chasis and shocks etc etc

  • The trail ready is built and has all electronics. But some of the metal pieces that come in the kit are plastic on the trail ready. But the TR has some nice parts with it like the bumpers and rock sliders.

  • where did u get that chevy body

  • It's a 72 chevy Proline body..Ebay has them for around 22-23 bucks.

  • you did real good!

  • Thanks..

  • no prob :D

  • Nvm I fixed my prob myself, also is there a certain lv to fill your shocks cause mine seem kinda stiff, only has about over half a pop cans worth of articulation, or is that about right?, also you said the hitech agressor came in the kit.....Mine is the kit, mine had no electronics or radio....but this is the kit as well but has the radio...please explain =)

  • I said the Aggressor comes in a kit with the radio the receiver and 2 servos. Not in the truck kit...Sorry if it sounded like that. And the articulation isn't all the big because this is a "trail" truck not really meant to be a crawler. But it will do some good crawling...lol

  • ohh im sorry, I thought you said came in the kit, I was like WTF i got ripped, lol thanks again! Got any ideas for a set of shocks that would increase the articulation and travel from the stock shocks?

  • that's no problem....I got a set of hot racing aluminum shocks. They have internal springs and I got about 1 1/2 more inches out of mine. They come with 3 or 4 sets of springs too.going from soft up to stiff.

  • Really thats awesome!, thats right at what im looking for, a set that will still give that scale look but will increase the travel and articulation, umm can you tell me where to get them or send me the link? Thanks so much!

  • I got mine off ebay.

  • got a ? for ya, I know how it shows in the manual but whats a good way to set your slipper cluth and know that it will slip and not damage your tranny?

  • I just finished putting together my SCX10 kit, and for some reason the coils on the shocks rub the side of my frame....any suggestions why this is doing it

  • Im adding the western bumpers, ambush body and roll cage and the actual working winch for mine, what do you have to do to set up that winch to work? as in electrical, do I have to have anything extra? thanks!

  • thanks a ton!!! i make a lot of model kits and i downloaded the instructions and im positive can make it...i have a crawler but this is my first scale build....any suggestions?

  • Do your self a huge favor. Don't think about how to change it, or do things differently until after you've finished it. Start simple do what it takes to get it done..Then start figuring out how to change it to make it look more scale. I've seen guys start building them and totally forget what they were doing, or what they were going to put where and what parts they needed and end up not finishing it. That'll get ya started I think...lol

  • hey i have never built a kit truck is it difficult? i definitely can and have built many things before...so i am not new to building but have not built a kit...thanks!!!!1

  • If you can use basic hand tools, and follow directions. You've got it made. It's A lot like a model kit with screws instead of glue.

  • next you should do a losi comp crawler next

  • I have one and was going to do a video on it but to tell the truth..IT"S JUNK! It has alot of problem from the factory.Guys have had to take the differentials apart and remove washers and run the shafts in a drill to loosen up the worm gears. Not to mention the motor and esc hoops you have to jump through. You just can't get a 45-55t and a esc and go crawling...NO NO..This thing makes motors and esc's fry.The worm gears put such a strain on the electronics they heat way up and fry.

  • can u use a helicopter radio for it

  • Yes the controller and receiver could be used but it would be over kill.Just get a cheap 2 channel receiver and radio.Like a traxxas TQ setup off ebay for $15-20 bucks.

  • could you do a video on it if possible please thank you for all of your help

  • thank you i noticed they have a bare bones chassis for the scx10 and it says it is a cinversion kit can tou put the ax10 suspension on the scx10 and make it a better crawler because i really like the design of the scx10 chassis cuz i wanna make it a flatbed

  • yeah longer shocks and links is all you need.Just make sure to keep checking your wheel base with your body to make it look right if your going for a scale look.

  • which is better the ax10 kit or the scx10 kit and can you turn the scx10 into all wheel turning

  • If you plan on crawling the ax10is better . If you want to do a little bit of crawling on a smaller scale but mostly just trail riding and a scale look the scx10 is better and yes the scx10 can have 4 wheel steering. All you need to do is order some extra steering knuckles, steering links ,a servo mount and a servo. I hope this helps ya.

  • can you buy it already built

  • nope...You have to build it.

  • no problem

    thanks

  • I am considering buying one of these kits, but on axial's website they advertise it with aluminum shock bodies and this one apears to have plastic ones. also, what all is needed to complete this kit besides electronics?

  • They don't come with the aluminum shock bodies but you can buy them. They come with plastic bodies.Unless there doing some special promo or something like that. You'll need a motor a ESC a steering servo a radio and receiver. Everything else is there.

  • Great idea about the velcro. This is really a good idea for scale truck because you are not really doing any bashing just trail run. BTW, your video is better than the RC caraction or RCnet video.

  • Thank you very much..I try to tell what I think would help someone trying to make up there mind about a kit. And then I add a little of what I've done to mine to give some ideas.

  • haha and this is how i done it. not makin fun only found it humerous

  • I have no clue what you are talking about. How you done what? Found what humorous?

  • when you were talking about the velcro

  • oh ok...lol

  • witch kit do you like better the scx10 or ax10. how much better is the performance of ax10

  • Well it's all about what you want to do with the kit.If you're going to crawl and maybe get into doing comps. the ax10 is the way to go. But if you want to do a little crawling but not on big stuff with a scale look. the scx10 is the way to go. the ax10 has more wheel travel , bigger tires, longer shocks, and it's chassis is setup for crawling. And then the scx is set up to look like a real truck. And setup for trail riding and slight crawling.Just like you and your buddies would do in a 4x4.

  • you seem to know your stuff, enjoyed your videos

  • thank you very much

  • Man I really dig the way you created the velcro body mounts. I wish I would have seen this before drilling my body! LOL Check out our SCX10, I think you'll like it. I'll put it in your video responses.-Jay

  • thanks alot but i think that i can do it

  • thanks alot this really help me alot but the olny thing that i need to now is how hard was it to build because i never builded one before so...

i gust have a revo 3.3 traxxaz thank you.

  • If you have ever built a model car and can use a screw driver a Allen wrench and a pair of pliers you can do it. And I'll tell ya what If you want one and can't build it send it to me I'll build it for ya for free then send it back to ya.

  • nice work on the body mounts, i may have to do that to my new body

  • yeah it gives it that scale truck look without the posts up through the hood.

  • hey does the body and beadlock rings come painted already or no?

  • The body that comes with this kit is the first body that is on the kit when the video starts. And no it's not painted when you get it. It comes clear. And as for the beadlocks they are green when they come out of the box.. But I striped the green off and left them the raw aluminum. I hope this helps you.

  • oh so it comes clear right?

  • yes the body is clear. You have to paint it.

  • k man thankz :)

  • No problem.

  • how much are these

  • $239-$249 I've made alot of upgrades to it after this video. I'll post another one soon.

  • I like the white body very simple but looks cool. Can't wait to see the truck after you get more done to it.

  • I did the pin striping on the 72 Chevy body.Looks good now all I need is all the other scale stuff....lol
