False accusations of abuse of any kind are hugely destructive to the credibility of the millions of women who are really and truly beaten, raped, and killed. When women (or men) lie about abuse to gain advantage in a divorce or a lawsuit, the judge will question the claims of the next real victim he sees.

I have never heard of these recording artists, but the whole story is compelling. Miss Peyroux looks like a troubled person in these videos. Her clothes are just hanging off her like a scarecrow, her eyes dart and shift around... she acts like she needs a drink or a "bump" or a fix of some kind. What a mess.

If you actually watched this particular video, Ms Peyroux makes it quite clear (this time) that there was NO physical abuse by Will...which contradicts her earlier testimony. That's a HUGE thing for someone falsely accused. If you were falsely accused, wouldn't you do absolutely anything to clear your name? I know I would.

The issue is that Madi's lawyer publicly accused me of physically abusing Madi, which she admitted under oath that I did not do, but she will not recant her statements publicly, or put the responsibility on her lawyer, so I am forced to vindicate myself in the only way I can think of. by putting up a website with the facts. If Madi wants the vids down, all she has to do is admit publicly what she's admitted under oath.

The issue was resolved in that I lost my lawsuit against Madi and her lawyer, due to the fact that the mob lawyers, representing them bought the judges. That is not hyperbole or sour grapes.. I have spent the past three years fighting NY State judicial corruption with a number of other people.

Madi claims that I lifted my own guitar above my own head but that it was "clear that I wasn't going to smash the guitar on her, but on the floor or on a chair."

Not that any of what Madi says is true, but even it were, threatening to break one's own guitar on the floor is at worst "verbal abuse" towards the guitar, but the guitar did not press charges because it is an inanimate object.

Had I threatened to break the guitar on the floor while calling Madi a "silly good for nothing", that might constitute verbal abuse, but Madi says I didn't say anything except that I was going to smash the guitar.

Had I threatened to smash the guitar on Madi (which she denies I did), then this might qualify as "menacing" under New York law.

Had I smashed the guitar ON MADI, THAT would constitute "physical abuse", but Madi denies that I either smashed the guitar or did anything to her,

The legal definition of "physical abuse" in New York State is "assault", which is defined as harming someone with intent.

The definition Madi relied upon was "a physical act which causes someone to feel abused"

By that definition, your comment constitutes "physical abuse" because typing it was a physical act and it made me feel abused.

It's five months since my last post to you, Will. I see that you are still getting lame responses to this and I'm not surprised.

I am a fan of Madi's and I loved the stuff you two did together.

Because of my interest, I've kept up with what is going on and I understand that you also owned the rights to the expanded demo and that Madi's manager misled her and that it much of the reason this video is up on Youtube.

They also threatened my distributor with charges of "copyright infringement", claiming that Madi was the sole owner. When I brought them to Federal court six months later, to prove that I was the co-owner of the CD, Madeleine and her lawyers admitted that they had lied to Rounder and to my distributor.

When Rounder found out that Madi had lied to them they threatened to cancel her contract.

So Madi and her lawyers started a campaign of defamation against me to get me to give up my rights.

Madeleine and her lawyers did indeed attempt to steal the copyrights of one co-written song as well as the co-owned album "Got You On My Mind", which they offered to Rounder Records as a Madeleine Peyroux record with William Galison as a an "accompanying musician" with no copyrights. They even signed a fifty page contract with Rounder swearing that Madeleine was the only owner.

Actually, I have received many e-mails of support in this matter and only a few nasties- no death threats yet!

The appeal has been filed and we are awaiting a response. When the case is reinstated, we will get a court date. It could go on for a while.

There is a major house cleaning of the court corruption underway in NY and Madi's lawyers will be going down hard.

Madi's lawyer wrote that he had recieved from Madi "evidence of numerous instances of physical abuse". But the fact that Madi admits that she never told her lawyer any such thing is beneficial to Madi.. if she is telling the truth.
