  • 9 minutes into the video and it turns into a history lesson. Oh wait, it says legacy. Nevermind.

  • Dixieland Jazz is one of the best thing I've ever heard! <3

  • OOOO my God i love this, so cooool

  • thank you very, very much!

  • god bless you for posting this who ever you are... we dont get this stuff on TV where im from and these basterds from Sony keep pulling all this great heritage off youtube so they can make more money and ive been combing the internet far and wide trying to get clips of al hirt you guys made my day..frankly I dot care who owns the copyright Im just glad to see these classic clips thanks again

  • @RicardoDowridge is that yourself playing the trumpet "carnival of venice" on your channel? not bad, not bad at all, my friend..... just keep going and you´ll surely be in the limelights some day.... plus I totally agree to what you said about these sony bastards- too much greed with too little brains & understanding for those that love music. all the best to you. take care

  • @skinupfast yeh i heard Al's rendition from the Carnegie hall recording and tried to mimic it...Hes my hero so I try to copy his style...tell me what you think of the greenhornet take on my channel as well twas my tribute to Al

    peace!!!!

  • @RicardoDowridge I like it.AlHirt defenitely was outstanding.hard 2 believe ure an amateur.u must´ve had prof. training, right? do u also listen to "modern" musicians likeWyntonMarsalis,Kermit Ruffins etc? jazz music with its endless horizon in general.u sound as if u had classical training.do u also listen to ppl like clifford brown, dizzy, miles (sketches of spain)&all the others, last but not least louis armstrong in his early days? truly amazing how u handle ur trumpet.regards from a german

  • @skinupfast Thanx for the props dude ,no ive been playing for a while i do listen to wynton ,louis and any other trumpeter I could get my hears on, Al has always been my hero and inspiration though he plays a happy horn I just love the way he plays. do u know as a young trumpeter he admired louis Armstrong and paid much tribute to him and he (Al) gave wynton marsalis his first trumpet what a legacy. Doy you play an instrument as well?

  • @RicardoDowridge anytime my friendUdeserve props4what ure doing.as2Al:no I didnt no but he gave his horn to the right man.I´m sure Wynton knows to appreciate that.I remember Al when he got really big&the clear sound of his trumpet.Louis also plays a happy horn&was a model for all of´em I think.myself I started playing trumpet when I was young but have to admit I didnt have enough persistence, prbly lack of talent I wanted to be all of´em at once so I just listen a lot & enjoy every bit.take care
