323rd Squadron 2004. I seem to remember them playing a star wars video before service with some techno music in the background. We didn't do the arm swaying either. A lot has changed. Wondered what that techno music was?
@markambush Hahaha, they really did, I'm a 324th Knights Graduate also, went on to the 824th Security Forces squadron, Moody AFB GA, then to Eielson AFB! Love our AF!!!
Hey what's the name of the song when they post the message "When do you talk to god" then it starts showing different places on bmt (in formation, getting yelled at, the latrine, chow hall, bed, etc.) I really liked that instrumental and would love to get my hands on it if anybody knows the name.
PICK UP MY GUN AND GET BACK TO WORK.... letter from war.... HUaAAAAAAA!!!!!
ill never see a church like that ever again... im not sure why but ever time we went we all hua'd atfer the word letters and when they said out walked a captain.
wow, I've never seen the Protestant one before. Interesting. Kept hearing how it was like disco lights and stuff (I attented the Catholic one, more traditional).
OMG april 23, 2010 was mt graduation date.....if it wasnt for church i most definitely wouldnt have made it....i cried every sunday to every song they played!!!
Not gonna lie, I teared up in the first five seconds of this vid. Memories! If this was one of the first three Sundays in March, then I was there, too! XD
Man every time they played Letters From War I just broke down. Church was an important part of keeping your sanity during basic, not because it was tough it was the fact that you didn't see your family for the entire time. You can always tell what week the trainees are in by the amount of them crying in each row.
def went to church every sunday while i was there. I was there feb '06-mar '06 .. 323 Vipers flt B254 .. though the band flight was always made fun of, it was still pretty fun.
Went to Church with my husband when he graduated BMT - Now I'm looking forward to attending eith our son when he graduates this November. It is such a wonderful experience to see all the Trainees and the new Airmen.
Im not a religious person, but I still highly recommend attending church. The common link you share with everyone there pulls you together....its a great break from the hardships of basic. I will never forget the first time I heard "letters from war" at that church....I bawled my eyes out!

I was a chapel guide and was there that week (i graduated June 12, 2009) so I was only in week 4 when your son graduated. I remember this service bc I cried bc I had just been issued my blues and was halfway done. very rewarding!
I too will never forget the church service when I went to see my son graduate. My son shared a very moving experience with me. In the Catholic service, the graduating airmen get to sit up front with their families and the new recruits sit behind you. He said, it was in church the first week of BMT that every recruit sheds their first tears of homesickness when they see those graduating airmen in front of them with their families. I suddenly realized what my son had experienced for 6 weeks.

My son graduated Nov 20th of this year. He said that the weekly church service was what kept him going the rest of the week.
Such an amazing sight to see all of the young men and women arm in arm swaying and singing to the music. Very emotional..
