You might want to pay attention to the posting date of this video. I don't think the Madcatz device was released two years ago. We wanted to use electronic drums THEN, not two years in the future. But thanks for the tip, just the same.
why dont you guys just buy the madcatz midi pro adapter for 40$ some dood named seth doesnt fill me with confidence, i know my midi adapters are awesome, strait outta the box plug n play with my dtxplorer, also works great with my midi keyboard and my fender squire midi guitar....
I don't really remember; that was almost 2 years ago. It seemed like he shipped fairly quickly. But it would depend on whether or not he had units in stock, or if he had to build one for you.
@dsfGuest You will need to contact Seth at the email address I mention in the video to make sure, but in general, yes, if you have a PS3 and an electronic drum set with midi out, it should work.
I don't know about the compatibility with the Wii. You will need to contact Seth at the email address I gave in the video. That's how I contacted him and ordered mine.
is it possible to have more than one of the roland pads have the same midi number on the TD-3? I want to have an extra tom be green so I have 2 green toms. thanks!
There is a finite number of physical trigger inputs on the TD-3, but with Seth's unit, you can map any of the triggers (pads or cymbals) to any color on the game.
No I think you misunderstood. I have the extra tom plugged into the module and it works I just wanted to know if two different triggers can have the same MIDI note number so they both play green notes on rock band.
They don't have to have the same MIDI note number. You can map all of your triggers to play green if you want. You don't have to do any manipulation in the TD-3 at all, just in Seth's unit.
Sorry, I thought it worked on the 360. Seth has maybe figured it out by now, I don't know. As far as the TD-3 mapping, yes you can map each trigger to whatever note you want. We just never needed to with Seth's unit.

...guitar hero drums have midi in and the new warriors set has midi in and out and the brain is removable from the set itself.

@dsfGuest It does look a little sketchy. A more reliable one i feel is the MDI Rocker LX from bytearts.com. Its the same idea, just more official.

did you fiddle around with your edrum thing to make the cymbals work or do the cymbals work as soon as you plug it in?

@24Jjssonicfan24 They just worked.

i was planning on using a world tour midi setup, and I have a 360 not a playstation
pballer225 2 years ago
It doesn't matter. The unit can be configured to do anything you want, 360 or PS3.

what unit? the roland module or the sethbox? and no sethbox doesnt work with 360's.... or does it now?

Did you have to adjust the MIDI note output on your drums or does the adapter handle that?

Nice drumming man.
I've got a TD-3 with seth adapter too, freakin awesome. One thing though, your cymbals seem a little tight, let em swing a little.
