This is the best song in the history of classical music. (In my humble opinion) It reeks of America in the 1920s. You can almost picture N.Y. City from the deck of a immigrant ship comming into Ellis Is. from the pogroms of Russia. Just listen to that "klezmerish" squeal @ the beginning. Gershwin was a genius. "American In Paris" is another masterpeice.

@Epim3theus :/ well, i think the incapability of doing some like that cant make you do some kind of critic... It's better ask for true Reasons to think why he doesnt like the clarinet solo... im Really Consternet because, it was a very cool play, but his opinion maybe is important....

It is a shame that this is the band version and not the full orchestra version. The color of full orchestra makes this piece what it is, and in just the band version a lot of the color is gone or changed from what it was meant to be.
