it's your opinion of which one had more substance. after Sharon took off for that year i lost all love for the Shick relationship though i was never a huge fan of them, i liked them fine. it's true that Phick started out with an affair but i never felt like their relationship or the deep feelings they developed were a shame. the way they connected so deeply despite the circumstances only made them more substantial to me and i think they would have stayed that way had the writers not changed.

The Phick marriage would have tanked within a year or less, and the writers clearly have seen that Phick was not going to be the real deal longterm.
