Dusty and lily were best friends and kids with a semi sexual relationship. Then Holden moved into Oakdale and changed everything. Lily wanted Holden and vice versa but Dusty wanted Lily and Lucinda hated Holden. There was hella drama involving Lily accidentally losing her virginity to Dusty instead of Holden and it was that mistake that led to decades of jealousy cheating and rivalry between Dusty and Holden.

His role in the story is to be an intolerant and traditional (and psycho?) father, that I get but what I don't get is why he had to be a condecorate soldier, specially a colonel? He could just be a traditional dad, that would suffice and all the beating and failures he got so far at least would make some sense. Bad conception!

In an arena with Maddie bare-fisted in one side and "Colonel" Mayer in the other inside a tank, I would put my bets on Maddie.
