the bit when the guitar riff comes round again at 0:58 has always been one of my favourite peices of music ever. not exactly sure why but I bloody love it
One of the most under-rated bands of that time. These guys always produced an album worth buying, not like today. Sparkle in the Rain and New Gold Dream, two of the best albums ever produced, but will never get the kudos they deserve. Suddenly I feel old.
the drums changed everything. made them sound so different from New Gold Dream and Sons and Fascination. it was all great, but this is simply magnificent!
@roy0866 I tottaly agree. Have you heard the unplugged version in the studio. I have it, its not the highest quality and mainly drums but its simply incredible. I will put it on yt asap. When i first heard it i was speechless.
This is from their 12 inch single. I remember buying it at Tower Records and playing it for hours, mesmerized by its powerful beauty. God it kicks. Every instrument hear spot on thanks to Lillywhite's in-your-face production.
@Lanterna2008 I remember going to Tower Records (in New York, at 4th & Broadway) or to the indy record shops in the Village (St. Marks Sounds, Freebeing, Vinyl Mania) like 2, 3, 4 times a week! :-)
you can get it on itunes... but only if you buy the whole album (I think it's part of themes 4)... for me... it's worth it.. i've been scouring for this online for years...
This is definitely, definitely one of the best remixes I've heard. Love the lack of high-end in the intro, then once your ears adjust the whole mix comes in and it just sounds huge. And that guitar break at 3:35 is the coolest thing I've ever heard.

Too bad the ending isn't here, it is superb as well. I love this song I wish they made music like this today (and if they do let me know about it!)

Bought this when it came out. It makes me cry everytime i listen and try to sing along. It's sooo beautiful and powerful.
With all due respect to my first loves, Sons, then New Gold Dream... I think this version of this song is the best thing they ever recorded.

does anyone know who did this remix...or where you can get it online or at all...there arent too many copies floating around...
this remix is used on the australian music show "rage" as its closing credits and has been since the 80's.
