Car Maintenance - How to fix a squeaky car belt tutorial

Here's the deal..worn out belts make noise when they are loose and or glazed... they make that noise because they are slipping around the pulley.... these young men were joking around and just having fun.. but they are on the right track for a quick fix.. the Pepsi has sugar in it and when it is poured on the belt it becomes sticky and grabs against the pulley... quick fix but eventually you will need a new belt....

@sj122s I just got a new belt several months ago, then it started squeaking but only when you start it, for about 10 seconds, when the engine is warm it won't even do it when the engine starts.

Now today I sprayed some belt dressing on the belt just to solve the small start up problem, but now I screwed it up, it won't stop squeaking now!! I drove for 20 miles and it still hasn't stopped :( it stops when you accelerate but when you let off the gas is squeaks, I should have never messed with it

The belt speaks is because it's under insufficient tension causes noises, but it could be worn out bearing because of to much tension.

lol, yall are fuckin the car up.......if your belt is squealin like that, you need something replaced. most likely your alternator, or power steerin. when i fix cars, i fix them right........and you cant adjust the belt on that car.......i can on my truck, but that car has a non adjustable belt

@MurkedStat if you pour coke on it, its the same thing as pouring water on it. if it stops squeling for a bit then you have a pulley out of alignment. the water just creates a "lube" for a sec before it evaporates.
