To everyone who's asking about the timing in the start: I think the start is easiest counted like 12345-1234-12345-12345678. I guess we can say it's 21/8, but it's made up by 9/8 and 13/8.

The snare hits are on the first "5", the next "4" and the second "5" which hits offbeat due to the dotted bassdrum eight notes which @dtyson777 already explained, and the last few things should be easy to figure out yourself :)

What kind of heads do you use and how to you tune your drums? They sound really good on the new album and no one can seem to give me a straight solution, so i thought id ask the man himself.

Aaron Gilespiee much??? HAHAHAH! You are a good drummer, but all that movement is just for show, and really does not help IMPROVE your skills. If anything its hindering it because wrist and hand action is what you need to build up for a strong sound (by you I mean everyone).

I mean watch Daniel Davison play, he is so so simplistic and doesn't try to be a showman, hence how good he sounds!

But you are a really good drummer, just know to get a looud sound you do not need your ENTIRE arm!

@rushour144 ya man, i totally know what you mean. im the center snare for my marching band at school (plus im sorta the go-to guy for all percussion in our Arts department) so technique is nothing new to me. I just dont like "boring" drum covers....and these songs really get my blood pumpin lol.

This was and easier song so it was easy for me to rock it.

I hope I dont come across as cocky, I love and take to heart ALL advice.
