  • if you know what the song is please tell me

  • ahhh 240p we meet again!

  • They just don't make them like Walter god bless you thanks for the memories you are the greatest sadly missed :(

  • Walter Payton opened my eyes to GOD being in a person

  • he is the reason i started playing football

  • and to anyone who is going to say im a biased bears, i have uploaded highlight videos of barry sanders and emmitt smith and at some point going to make highlight videos of earl campbell, eric dickerson, jim brown, etc. my point is, sure jim brown and campbell had more power than payton, sanders was more elusive, but none of them had the numerous overall abilities that payton had.

  • my response to everyone arguing over who is the best runningback

-i agree that sanders was the most elusive and best pure runner of all time, but by no means does that mean he is the best at the runningback position. there is way more to being a runningback than just running, payton was elusive, had power, greatest stiff arm, greatest blocker, one of the greatest receiving backs, greatest option passing back, returned kicks, no one has yet to ever do as much as payton did.

  • a new battle has taken place in the southern hemisphere "RWC 2011"

  • So humble was Walter and such a great teammate that is what made him so special. His talent spoke for itself.

  • so good

  • he came before jordan, so jordan is the walter payton of bball

  • he's the michael jordan of football R.I.P Sweetness

  • does aybody knohat the song is called????

  • whats the song?

  • he was'nt called sweetness for nothing nowhere near the stuckup ones of today who we have to see in a t-shirt commercial or promoting a shitty cologne

  • He definitely was the best there ever was!!!!

  • payton less then a god....... but more then a man

  • @espnchris Well said! Walter Payton is not God (Jesus is), but an exceptional and extraordinary person he was, and the greatest football player in the history of the game!

  • Whats the song at the beginning?

  • was he the fastest, no. was he the strongest, no. was he the best.... Yes

  • 1. Barry Sanders

    2. Jim Brown

    3. Walter Payton

Emmitt has the most yards because he had the best line. Give Barry or Jim Brown that line, and we would have an entirely different record book. Barry ran for his life because his line was so bad, which is the reason he has so many negative yards. The defense knew the Lions were going to run before game even started, and they still couldn't stop Barry. He is the greatest.

  • @Digitalirrelevance

    1. Brown

    2. Payton

    3. everyone else

  • it took emmit smith 5 more years to beat walter payton.. walter would kick his ass

  • jus proves that even raiders fans have respect for SWEETNESS

  • Great video but its kind of a smack in the face to all bears fans by having this video uploaded by "Raiders"2244. But still a really good video

  • I beleive that Walter Payton was the greatest Football player of the modern Pro football era (Post 1960) I say that because he was the most durable (missing one game in his 13 year career), He was a devastating blocker, Excellent receiver out of the backfield, Terrific passer on the option, great runner and was the back-up punter and place-kicker. Others may have been better at a certain aspect as a runningback, but no one was the compkete package like Payton.

  • @Farinadog13 exactly. sanders is the best pure runner, but no one could everything and i mean everything like payton.

  • @Farinadog13 I believe Walter Payton is the greatest football player ever! Like you said, no one could do as many things as well as Sweetness. RIP #34. I'll see you in Heaven one day.

  • slide show? Come on, I want to watch the sweetness move

  • @tuxedoshirtparty If Emmit Smith was so good why are you watching a video about Payton. Get a life. Payton would kick Smith's ass any day. Also Smith played in the steroids era. You will never find a better player than Walter Payton was. Did you ever watch the top 100 players in NFL History on the NFL Network.... probably not. Smithwas ranked somwhere in the 20's. Payton was 5th all time. Chicago would kick ur southern ass anyday. And why would you root for two under 500 teams? Fucked up.

  • Hey, all Chicago sports fans listen up. I love every thing that has to do with professional in Chicago. I'm trying to gather the most Chi-Town sports fans on YouTube. Check out my channel! I usually post the biggest events in Chicago sports. And since right now it's the football season I'll be posting more Bears stuff up. Feel free to add me as a friend. I am a Cubs fan but I do put stuff up about the sox. GO CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • greatest offensive football player of all time

  • nice song fag not even videos just pictures

  • theres 51 HATERS

  • It's too bad no one shows any of EDDIE Payton's highlights. He was an f-ing sparkplug as kick returner. The most reckless abandon I've ever seen, and some great moves. I'm sure that he was Walter's model for a lot of what he did when it comes to getting a good shot on would-be tacklers.

  • sssweetnesss

  • this song is a disgrace

  • barry was the best then thiers walter and bo and finley emmit

  • thats ma boi

  • your the best walter payton go beatssssssssssssssss

  • @Digitalirrelevance Barry was a great RB, but he wasn't the all around player Walter was. That's with all due respect to the others on your list. The others were great at their positions; Walter ran, caught, blocked ferociously, threw TDs, and punted. All around, the greatest.

  • On the shoulders of greatness...

  • walter payton and emmitt smith are great running backs top five in my opinion but i feel that the greatest running back was barry sanders

  • are u fucking serious bo jackson played like 4 years in the nfl

  • Bo Jackson is the greatest

  • wayltor peyton will be missed fo WAYLTOR

  • one of the worst uploads ever in youtube history

  • good soundtrack, nice job.

  • Greatest of ALL TIME

...Please check out my video & watch in HD

...Its nuthin long so it wont take up 2 much of ur time

  • hi im emmith smith im a rb i played 15 seasons 4004 attempts and 1800 yards

hi im walter payton im a rb/k/qb/te/wr i played 10 seasons with 3600 attempts and have totaled 16820 yards. i also played 10 years earlier then emmit thats when the nfl hit harder and you got hurt more.

gale sayers could of been the best who knows?

  • @itsmybunny1 18000 yards

  • @itsmybunny1 Emitt Smith ALL-TIME RUSHER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @iiPlayBaLL emmit smith played 1 position!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stupid enough said

  • @iiPlayBaLL Yeah Emmitt Smith did get more rush yards than Payton. But was Emmitt good ON and OFF the field? Payton had it all. He was an amazing rusher, player, and PERSON. He was one of the most courteous and well-mannered players the league's ever seen. And Payton was everything, he caught the ball, ran the ball, and totally decimated on and off the field. So who cares if Emmitt got more yards, Payton's still better in character and overall well being.

  • how about all you shut the fuck up because your most likly just fat ass old guys who never played past freshmen year of football year and you never played running back.

  • ok kids jim brown is the best.... end of discussion

  • Well, the title says it all.

  • Consider these numbers when picking the greatest of all time. 104.3, 5.2, and 0. 104.3 yards per game, the most i9n NFL history. 5.2 yards per carry, the highest average in NFL history. And zero, the number of games Jim Brown missed in his nine year career. He led the NFL in rushing 8 of those years.

Nobody has ever dominated ANY sport at ANY position so consistently as Jim Brown.

Someday we may see a greater running back than Jim Brown. But not yet.

  • @MarkIra613 Wilt Chamberlin Micheal Jordan Jerry Rice Tiger Woods Wayne Gretski Babe Ruth Willie Mays Browns great definately though

  • Consider these numbers when picking the greatest of all time. 104.3, 5.2, and 0. 104.3 yards per game, the most in NFL history. 5.2 yards per carry, the highest average in NFL history. And zero, the number of games Jim Brown missed in his nine year career. He led the NFL in rushing 8 of those years.

  • Emmitt Smith is largely a product of circumstance. Without Barry's retirement, he's second.

  • Emmitt should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Walter. Peyton ran for shitty a team with a terrible o-line. Emmitt ran behind all-pros. Give Peyton that line for the same time period and it's not close.

  • Jim Brown is the best. No one can beat him. Walter comes close, but Jim Brown was the greatest.

  • I sang about Walter Payton in The History Song.

  • what's the name of the first song?

  • Barry was a bad-ass but there was no way he was going to make 20k yards on that turd of a team. He finally figured that out. Hence the retirement.

  • @jbr496 He was only 4700 yards shy... he could have got that in 4 seasons with ease, and he had every bit of 4 more seasons left in the tank.

  • yes it is...and i was out on my feet....my cousin is hall of famer mike haynes.

  • back when i was with the rams..i had to take him on one on one....im still sore..

  • @darrylhaynes what is your real name is it Darryl Haynes , or is it spelled a different way ,and that must've hurt

  • @darrylhaynes Darry L Haynes*

  • I'd say #3 Earl Campbell #2 Walter Peyton #1 Barry Sanders. Barry Sanders might have been the best back ever, and that's before you factor in the fact that his O-line was awful.

  • but also...Sanders lost half the yards he gained, that has to be considered.

  • 1.walter payton

    2.barry sanders

    3.emmit smith

  • I know I'm in the minority here because of sports center but mine is #3 Eric Dickerson, #2 Earl Campbell, #1 Barry Sanders.

Walter, Emmitt, "The other" lt (really??), Tony D, and all others not quite it.

  • f walter stayed in the nfl longer he would still be number 2 after yards if gale sayers never got injured lol then barry would have been number 3 no scenario could fix the lines horrible o-line lmao but barry retirement along with walter emmit knew no one could stop him there all great though

  • my team is the giants i'm a new yorker born and raised but when i was asked who my favorite player was the answer still the same #34 Walter Payton

  • Hell yeah guys. Sweetness is a beast!!!

  • bo jackson

  • Walter Payton was the best on and off the field, just a great man

  • Walter Payton=G.O.A.T. Period.

  • emmitt smith walter played 13 years he had 16726 yards emmitt had 17162 ha emitt is better

  • Well, be objectionable. Emmitt is VERY lucky Barry retired. If he didn't, we'd be talking about Barrys' 20k yard career. Enuff said.....

  • @suprchrgr This video isn't about Barry or Emmitt, its about Walter the best.

  • @suprchrgr be happy gale sayers got an injury to end his career or he would of been number 1 and ahead of your lover barry sanders

  • @itsmybunny1 Be happy Bo Jackson got hurt otherwise he would be number 1 over anybody.

  • @kojak235 dont even talk to me anymore. If you say bo jackson would of been the best runningback ever if he didnt got hurt and you seriously think that go kill yourself... your obviously a raiders fan. he wouldnt even be the best rb ever even if he was the only rb in the league beacuse i bet alot of wrs could run better stupid

  • @itsmybunny1 it goes gale sayers-sweetness-----thomas jones

  • @suprchrgr emmot smith said he broke walters record for him and he talked about barry

  • @suprchrgr the other thing was that walter and barry never had a quarterback let alone a line to block for them emmit had a line and quarterback and recievers

  • @suprchrgr first barry sanders can not reach 20k yards and 2nd if he did some how he would have over 3k negative yards buddy

  • @itsmybunny1 emmitt had 13,963 yards after the same amount of seasons that barry had... and barry had 15,269, that is 1306 more yards... thats an average season for these 2 players... in the same amount of time.. with a way way way shittier o-line.. if he had emmitt's o-line and played as long as emmitt did.. he would have made a run at 25k yards... nuff said

  • @nsaucier1988 or he would of just quit at 24k dont you think? Btw sanders had more probowl lineman then payton. emmit smith just flat out sucks lol he couldnt even catch or block with all the hofs in his team.

  • @itsmybunny1 sanders had a halfway decent o-line till like.. 93-94ish.. after that... it was garbage... there is now way in hell the early to mid 80's bears was anywhere close to the pathetic team that was the lions in the mid to late 90's lol... without barry... the lions back then would have been the lions of 2008 lmao, there is no denying that barry was a one man team.

  • @nsaucier1988 @secompton95 barry sanders ran behind 3 multi-time probowl linemen, one of which is a hall of fame nominee

-lomas brown (LT) was a 7 time probowler and 1 time first team all pro, hall of hame

-kevin glover (C) was a 3 time probowler

-jeff hartings (RG) was a 2 time probowler and 1 time first team all pro

payton never even had 1 linemen that made even 1 pro-bowl until 1984, his 10th year in the league, way past his prime, 70's-early 80's bears far worse than lions were.

  • @suprchrgr walter had more heart to not give up and fight every play. no disrepect to barry sanders.. e nuff said

  • @AngelClanPS3 its a tough call.. but there is no way you can say barry sanders didn't have heart... his passion for the game and his overall endurance and persistance in a play was unquestionable.. he made plays out of complete disasters day in and day out.

  • @Arlington - Emmitt also had one of the greatest offensive lines in the history of the game in front of him. Walter had horrible horrible offensive lines at the beginning of career. Walter is by far the greatest all around running back of all time.

  • ArlingtonRedneckSports-

Emitt never played behind a crummy offensive line (like the late 70's-early 80's Bears' line.) Emmit also never ran for a home team with weather like Chicago. Sorry - Walter has no equal.

  • @ArlingtonTXSports ur jus jelous cuz walter payton had more heart thn emmit the bears werent always runin the ball but whn walter payton ran the ball he didnt wanna stop tht run

  • @ArlingtonTXSports ha ur retarded

  • JIM BROWN =#1

  • Barry and Walter can't be compared...they were completely different. And no one ran through people like Payton....

  • walter 1 barry 2 very very close

  • ya he was that's why he left the league

  • Barry Sanders and him are both amazing running backs but i have to give it to Barry Sanders. Hes straight boss. Im not saying walter payton is terrible so dont say that im a bitch or anything, just barry sanders was amazing.

  • you right however "so dont say that im a bitch or anything" lol, why would you care what ppl on youtube think

  • becuz i dont feel like seeing ppl bitch about how i think Walter Payton is terrible when i dont and lookin at comments ppl leave me saying im terrible at life.

  • I've been watching the NFL since the mid 80's and the two best running backs I have seen are Payton and Barry Sanders.

  • yeah barry sanders was the human hail mary

  • Sweetness! We need you.

  • Adrian Peterson has a little bit of style like this guy but Walter Payton will always be the best

  • Alright I went to Auburn fan so maybe a little biased but Bo was on the same level as Walter Payton ...he got injured in his prime tho after 4 years. If you saw him play in college against defenses that were pretty good he ran all over their asses.

  • Why do people make these stupid ass slideshows?

  • flyingchair no way walter is the greatest he is sweetness he could throw catch block run he could do it all walter could have played more seasons but he had liver problems so u cant say barry would have beaten him. some people think adrian peterson is better but he will never be as great as walter.

  • He wasn't having those liver problems when he retired.

  • him and emmitt smith are BEAST

  • he is the all around geatest football player ever

  • this guy is to amazing to bad his life had to end early

  • I was named after him. I live in Oregon but im a Bears fan for life

  • walter paytons is better than all of them barry sanders, bo jackson, thurman thomas, and eric dickerson.... walter is the best

  • no one is better than Walter Payton

  • Walter Death Anniversary.. rip the greatest

  • This man was quite possibly one of the most influential athletes ever not even of his generation he revolutionized his position but he was one of the best humans to play the game of football or ever. He wasn't the biggest the strongest but his shear will pushed him higher than any other RB in the game at that point.

  • Walter did all that with no offense line..Think what he could have accomplished if he had one!!!!!

  • Sanders> All other RBs

  • Walter Payton > all other people.

  • Yeah Okay. Because he had more yardage? 13 Seasons and a 4.4 yard average. Barry had a 5.0 average including all the negatives from his crappy offensive line, only played 10 seasons, and would've beaten Payton's all-time record within a year if he stayed.

  • you misunderstand.

I meant, as a person, as a role model, not as a football player. No one is better than Barry as a pure runner.

  • @FlyingChair42 but did he? plus walter was a better all-around player

  • JIM BROWN =#1

  • fuck off

  • yo you forgot the T in payton in the bio lol

  • Dude don't put slide shows on youtube, it's annoying.

  • Where's the video clips?

  • What better way to present a RUNNER.....than STILL images? Hmmmm....a little bit of a conflict here. F'n Genius.

  • He admitted himself that he didn't like to block, and just plain refused to do it most of the time. That's something that's required if you want to be considered "the best RB of all time". It's part of the job description.

The total package Payton brought to the table is why he's widely considered the best RB of all time. He did it all. Jim Brown may have been a better runner, but not running back.

  • "and look at em go, and look at em go he could go all the way".

  • Man every time I watch highlights of Sweetness I wanna shed a tear! No player in nfl history with limited ability played with as much heart as Walter Payton, NO ONE! This is the reason why today, my favorite rb's are Maurice Jones-Drew & Thomas Jones. Undersized backs that play with HEART!

  • Payton was amazing! Did you know he could walk all the way across the field on his hands? also he could out benchpress most of his lineman

  • Not sure I see the "limited ability". This guy had it all (speed, agility, power, vision, hands). He was 5'10", that's not that short for a RB. Perfect actually, IMO.

Agree with wanting to shed a tear when watching him though. Some people are so great at what they do they're artists. One doesn't need a brush and canvas to create art. This man was an artist on the football field.

  • Bo Jackson=best I ever seen run the ball

  • the one thing that bugs me to this day about that great 85 Bears team was the fact that Payton never scored a TD in the Superbowl, he deserved it more than anybody on that team, instead they fed the ball to ' The Fridge ' to rumble in

  • @VikingThor1 yeh he deserved a touchdown for such a great player here's my opinion on the greatest Runningbacks ever 1. OJ Simpson 2, Barry Sanders 3. Jim Brown 4. Walter Payton 5. Erick Dickerson 6. Emmit Smith 7. gale sayers 8. earl campbell 9. LT 10. Marcus Allen or Tony dorsett
  • @VikingThor1 Yeah but...Walter was enough of a man to serve as a decoy for that game. The entire New England defense was set up to stop him. He was a team player and he did what he needed to do.

  • @VikingThor1

couldnt agree with you more, that was really poor poor form to not have sweetness get a TD and give one to a toad like the fridge instead

  • Now, let me be clear, Walter Payton was MAGNIFICENT. I remember watching him as a little kid in the Hall of Fame game his rookie year. During the era in which he played he was the best player in the league regardless of position. I just think Jim Brown was an epochal figure in the mold of Ruth and Chamberlain and Ali. The world was one way before he came and it was different after he left. Great as he was, I wouldn't say the same thing about Payton.

  • People always find the weirdest reasons to talk down the other guy. Do you think Babe Ruth wasn't really that good because of the level of talent he played against? Wilt Chamberlain? I think being ahead of your time is part of what makes certain people not just great but revolutionary. Babe Ruth forever altered our opinion of what a great hitter was. Jim Brown entirely redefined what anyone thought a running back was capable of. I would argue that he was the first truly modern athlete.

  • Chamberlain was just the tallest in the game thats why he was awesome

  • He was my favorite player,I still remember him flying over the defensive lines,it was terrific.

    0ctober 7th 1984,he broke Jim Brown's record,playing against NO Saints

    Dr. Rodriguez

  • legends never die !

  • look im not quetioning Jim Browns Speed or power. by all mean he was a man amongst boys. literally. what i do question was the level of opponents as in dlinemen, corners, Dtackles he faced theres no way he gets those numbers playing now or even in Paytons Days though he still wouldve been great .

  • Walter Payton isn't the Babe Ruth of football, Babe Ruth is the Walter Payton of baseball.

Walter Payton isn't the Michael Jordan of football, Michael Jordan is the Walter Payton of basketball.

    R.I.P Sweetness

  • u guys r stupid

  • walter payton was faster and stronger than jim brown. behold the greatest combinaion of speed and power in a running back. we miss u Sweetness.

  • Dude, Jim Brown ran a 4.4 forty and weighed thirty pounds more than Walter Payton and was at least as tough to bring down. Payton was magnificent but don't come talking crazy.

  • ok a 4.4 when shit was hand timed

  • hahahahaha i know im right hahahahaha i'll have the satisfaction of being right.

  • dood your a fag. when you have the respect, and accomplesments that walter has then talk shit you fuckin nerd fag

  • fuck jim brown payton is the best fucking running back of all time u prick ass. -.-

  • FUCK U HE DONT SUCK U SUCK

  • JIm Brown#1

  • walter is sooo much better

  • JIm is better

  • no not all

  • i am related to walter payton my name is justin payton i waz born in 1997

  • well then you need to be awesome all the time
