Particles fell, captured on some pics I took on a low light setting (still only the ones with the moon in it came out) smelled metallic... i was not a believer until now - researching it, likely 'chemtrails' or military 'chaff' to cloak classified aircraft possibly-don't know but it was very strange.

ALL of the physical observable characteristic of what you claim to be "chemtrails" are simply the NORMAL characteristics of contrails.

Clouds are water condensation
Water condensation is water condensation.
Since clouds can grow and spread and last for HOURS, so can contrails because they are EXACTLY the SAME SUBSTANCE: WATER.
WATER can remain visible in the sky for HOURS and forms CLOUDS.

@GregOrca Now, take it one step further: some of the trails left by unmarked planes have added chemical properties/foreign biological compounds. Therefore, the use of contrails is a perfect medium for dispersing the chemical properties. Here's the fundamental difference between contrails and chemtrails: the former is a 'natural phenomenon' of flight at a certain altitude, and the latter is a 'method' for dispersing chemical properties in the atmosphere via the simulation of a contrail.

contrails and chemtrails are two different animals. Contrails do not hang in the sky all damn day. Even childrens books, and Olympic advertisements have chemtrails featured prominently in their skies. I"m almost 50 yrs old, I know what the skies used to look like and they werent' full of these things. Planes WERE flying "back then" so I know what I am talking about.

That is why they are visible in the sky in gemini launch footage.
That's why they appear in old movies like Zulu, Patton , Moby Dick, Spartacus and TV series like Bonanza and Zoro, the Outer Limits, Twilight Zone etc etc.
That's why there are hundreds of photos and films like this from the 1940s onwards
