Sorry to burst some of the haters bubbles, but thats most likely a big turbo car, lots of lag between the shifts, and what sounds like an external wastegate. Yes you can run a EWG on a stock turbo, but the spool is alot faster than in this video. I know from experience... considering that I've had all three set ups on mine.
50 trim would have yanked the hell out of a stock C5 Zo6. Since the Neon driver thinks a D44 is a 50 trim, I am going to guess it's a stock turbo car.
There is no way this is a Delta 44 or a .50trim..... This is like a stock turbo skittle vs. a stock Z06. My friend has a C5 Z06 just like this and this race was as close as mine and his. He kept his rear bumper just infront of front bumper the entire time. Sorry not convinced.
@hootieti Where did he get smashed? The vette was pullin' away until he braked. Watch it again, you will see the vettes brake lights just before the camera pointed in the direction of travel. There was a car in the vette's lane which is why he braked.

At 0:20 seconds the vette slightly pulls away, 0:23 the srt4 slightly catches up due to possibly poor shifing on the vette and at 0:25 the vette pulls much harder. At 0:28 is where the vette hits the brakes and thats when the srt appears to have won but it didnt! go watch the video again you nitwit and see for yourself! Ok clarification... "SRT4 got nothing on a zo6" as you can see the zo6 was barely pulling, now hence stock form to turbo, the srt4 simply got em but yes a cam only for the zo6 and the srt4 can call it a day.
"Passenger made the difference in this race." - Not really, the whole power to weight ratio 4cyl talk aint jack, it was all HP vs Torque and in this case the srt4 had the hp to keep it moving, the zo6 had torque which everytime he shifted he pulled out but the pull stopped lol.
they're both low grade cars.. I drive a srt 4 and work in and out of cars all day. I've been in side and driven both cars and they're nothing to rant about. (either of them) Especially with such greater platforms out their than the two. still both amazing machines if you look at it from a development aspect.

@TEAMALSTARE ACR viper is no low grade. Ran the Nurburgring in 7 something. Cars like the Toyota supra, and 350 z have great potential for ANY time of driving, whether it be DD or Circuit, Drag or even drift.. IMO Both srt4 neon and Z06 only go so far in a handful of categories.
@TEAMALSTARE The c5 z06 is a no nonsense track beast. I am an instructor at Road America so I consider myself experienced with some track activity. And road america is about as awesome of a place as you can drive. About 75% of the instructors that I work with drive a c5 or c6 z06 including myself, so I would only reccomend that. A 3 series bimmer would be awesome for track as well given the correct suspension, brake and weight reduction mods.
@ksteezy69 Looking at the radio controls of the vette doesn't tell the tale of what a good car it is. The first time u heel toe and grab a foot full of brakes into a corner with one, you will get a real feel. "Working inside one," isnt gonna give you much info. The c5 Z06 may just be the greatest bang for buck car currently on the market. 2nd place is the c6 z06 because of its slightly higher price. You can get an 06 z for mid 40s. Show me a stock car for that price that will step up.

My stock turbo srt could beat stock c5's. No way in hell could it beat a 01-04 z06. I had wga, 650cc injectors, Bfmic, 3" 02, open Dp, and a tune. High 10's low 11's, a/f at redline. My car dynoed at 304/422 torque. I wanted the d44 setup, but I decided to buy a corvette instead. RWD ftw!. Have fun a be safe.
this is my srt in the video. it was on 19 psi on the delta 44. it makes 370/370 on 20 psi, 397/423 on 24 psi. the A/F was around mid 10's in the vid so the tune was really shitty. it was a good run though. he had me beat. next time we'll have to do one on 24 with me brake boosting :) im calling BS on this stock turbo beating a zo6....it might have been a regular C5.....
the srt here has a d44 setup, with the tune it made 394whp, the vette has only nitto drag radials, these 2 were close 2nd gear, the vette puuls just as hard at higher speed, with aerodynamics to its advantage too. its a hard car to beat
I had a very similar race with a 04' C6 ZO6 (405hp). However I was still running the STOCK turbo, FMIC, Turbo XS actuator, CAI, Return line, map clamp, 3" turbo back w/ cat and we were just like this neck and neck. My car at that time trapped about 110mph through the 1/4. A D44 set up should murder this car if it's fairly stock.
All about that Z06 power ;) Nice run though, much closer than I had assumed and shoulda just plowed through traffic haha
