  • Beautiful.

  • chet atkins le plus grand guitariste de tout les temps, merci chet pour les merveilleux moments que tu nous a offert sur tes guitares grestsch.

  • This was my Dad's favorite song. It'is done so perfectly. As all of Chet's music. Thanks alot.

  • Beautifully played, Chet. But I would expect nothing else done by you!!! God bless you.

  • Kydaystar, Chet Atkins was certainly not an atheist. If you want to insist he was, site your source.

  • @kpdsza Read Chet's autobiography, "Country Gentleman". In it, he writes about his father, who was an itinerant gospel singer-music teacher. Chet strongly implies that he felt that his father was somewhat hypocritical, and that he himself chose no religion at all. Also in the book, there is his friendship with Wesley Rose, a devout Christian Scientist. Chet states that he was definitely not a believer, but that Rose's theology at least made sense to him.

  • @moproducer I'll do that, I bet it's interesting. Just a couple of points. First, not choosing a religion does not denote atheisism in and of itself. It sounds a little odd but, hey, some people are just rebels. Second, Christian Science does believe in God. They are mistaken concerning the diety of Christ but they can't be labeled athiests. However, since I have not read his autobiography I guess it's fair to say I spoke too soon. My reply was based on a vague memory and that is never wise.

  • @moproducer

Not a believer? in his book "me and my guitars" he says that he'd thank god every night he goes to bed in health. maybe he changed his mind during the years. Country gentlemen was released in 1974 if i'm correct. "me and my guitars" was released in 2001?!

  • @boguitar87 Bo, I know avowed atheists who use the phrase "thank God", and that doesn't mean they've changed their minds. Chet's bitterness toward religion in general came through loud & clear in "Country Gentleman", and in talking to people who knew him, I'm told he never associated with a church. That certainly doesn't make him an atheist or a non-believer, but it does clearly indicate his disassociation. What the hell does it matter to us? It's a free country.

  • @moproducer

Of course we like him because of his playing and the music he made, not his religion.

  • truly inspirational,a gret way to start the day
