Just spoke to Operator 1 at ATF (1-800-800-3855). After he hung up on me the first time, I told him I was calling the crime line to report a crime. I call bullshit on the ATF and news media. The weapons that were being smuggled were not assault weapons. They semi automatic rifles and are not assault weapon because they only have one mode of fire. Another thing the Mexican drug cartels get their weapons from three primary sources the black market, or they steal them from police and military armories, or they are bought from corrupt police and military officials.

Feb. 9th Obama says tracking the bulk sale of high-powered rifles from border states gunshops which legally sell thousands of assault weapons that end up in Mexico each year is not an emergency, and has rejected a request from the U.S. agency that monitors weapons sales to do so without public review.
