  • Although English Electric Type 4 D318 appears in this video, it was actually D326

(scrapped with most of its classmates in the eighties) that was involved in the

Great Train Robbery in August 1963. D318 is preserved under its TOPS number

of 40118 at the Tyseley Railway Centre in Birmingham.

  • I saw this on U68 back in the days.

  • This single bombed in France. After the huge success of "19" (and our local Yves Mourousi version - which was pretty fair, actually), this was a major disappointment for all Hardcastle's fans. In France, nobody never heard of him again after that. Fortunately, his carreer was fruitful beyond his classic dance tracks. The man is still one of my favorite choices in the electro fields.

  • Wicked song this!

  • Wow what a great video and song i love this ( Crime of the centery ) :)

  • Back in the day, we had REAL music V I D E O S !!!!

    And they actually had meaninig.

  • Good un',Paul ya geezer!

  • think abart the money, aah son

  • i like the music he makes now much more cus i simply loves smooth jazz

  • The Gangster in this is Ed' oRoss he was the bad guy in Red Heat.

  • ahhh 1:04 Ed O'Ross...

  • This song always reminds me of Glasgow Central train station, I used to be facinated by train's coming and leaving the many platforms, including the Glasgow to London mail train. I did notice that there used to be a lot of police near this train before departure and it was an event to see it leave the station with balls of smoke from it's chimney roaring as it left the platform. When my dad told me of the robbery: I was amazed!

  • this video cracks me up, and used to 'back in the day' sorry I mean in the past

  • @MrMeefos Good song. yes it cracks me up. The way the gangers talk and all that.

  • Good old Paul Hardcastle is BACK !! check for his forthcoming album "Zero One", electro sound is alive ! :-)

  • I could not get over how funky PH was - it still sounds good today!

  • I forgot all about this!!

  • Bob Hoskins looks a bit like Buster Edwards -one of the train robbers. (So does Phil Collins who played Buster in the film)

That's why they probably chose him for the video.

  • Paul Hardcastle is a genius. It's soooo disapointing that he doesn't do that kind of stuff anymore :-(

  • Boy those two train robbers are gonna be locked up for a loooooong time...

  • I think that's paul's dad in the beginning

  • yeahhh.i love this track so much.

  • Probably the only pop video that ever featured Laurence Olivier (and Bob Hoskins).

  • you know...I think you're right. "Think about the money! Imagine what you can do with it." The two guys playing Capone and the other guy sound uniquely like British actors doing American accents. :-) But it's cool.

  • reminds me of playin pole position on me comodor 64 with bruv back in the dayz

  • @mi5nme

Hmmm...tell us more about how it reminds you :D

  • Bob Mutha #uckin' Hoskins baby! I love his brilliant Al Capone lookin' ass! I love this song, but he MAKES this video!

  • Paul Hardcastle MY NEGRO! I love this muff-hugga! Has there EVER been a white guy with an Afro who didn't have soul? Shame this song wasn't a hit here in the states. Hardcastle is a genius!
