This single bombed in France. After the huge success of "19" (and our local Yves Mourousi version - which was pretty fair, actually), this was a major disappointment for all Hardcastle's fans. In France, nobody never heard of him again after that. Fortunately, his carreer was fruitful beyond his classic dance tracks. The man is still one of my favorite choices in the electro fields.
This song always reminds me of Glasgow Central train station, I used to be facinated by train's coming and leaving the many platforms, including the Glasgow to London mail train. I did notice that there used to be a lot of police near this train before departure and it was an event to see it leave the station with balls of smoke from it's chimney roaring as it left the platform. When my dad told me of the robbery: I was amazed!
you know...I think you're right. "Think about the money! Imagine what you can do with it." The two guys playing Capone and the other guy sound uniquely like British actors doing American accents. :-) But it's cool.
Paul Hardcastle MY NEGRO! I love this muff-hugga! Has there EVER been a white guy with an Afro who didn't have soul? Shame this song wasn't a hit here in the states. Hardcastle is a genius!
Although English Electric Type 4 D318 appears in this video, it was actually D326
(scrapped with most of its classmates in the eighties) that was involved in the
Great Train Robbery in August 1963. D318 is preserved under its TOPS number
of 40118 at the Tyseley Railway Centre in Birmingham.

Bob Hoskins looks a bit like Buster Edwards -one of the train robbers. (So does Phil Collins who played Buster in the film)
That's why they probably chose him for the video.

Paul Hardcastle is a genius. It's soooo disapointing that he doesn't do that kind of stuff anymore :-(

Probably the only pop video that ever featured Laurence Olivier (and Bob Hoskins).
