I have a 2005 kdx 220 also - great bikes huh?!! Were you riding on the road all day or did you have to go out in the mud alot? Looks like a great place to ride but really muddy!
This was just the start of a 40 mile lap mate. You rode up into the forests and hills from here, lots of mud, water, rocky climbs, tight single track etc. Shame i didnt get anymore footage but my helmet camera packed up.
To be on the safe side i refuelled every lap. It was a 43 mile lap if i remember right. The bike was by no means empty but it was heavy going further into the forests and the likes with the weather being so wet and everywhere being flooded.
If i was to hazard a guess i'd say your looking at 60 plus miles before reserve depending on the riding. There wasnt many places to be full throttle flat out there so its a bit hard to say what its like if you did that.
Its good mate, as far as im concerned anyway. I suppose if your into jumping long distances and the likes then you would want heavier springs etc but the KDX was never meant for that anyway.
Its a shame this vid because its only the sighting lap thats not timed. Theres no hurry, just getting a feel for the terrain so to speak. It was also very wet and very very slippy so no heroics as there was another 40 miles on that lap and another 2 laps after. The KDX stood up to that great for sure.
Awesome looks like loads of fun and bit less tasking than an enduro, I want a KDX for greenlaning and if possible maybe a rally event. How did your KDX compare to the other enduro bikes out there?
KDX was great mate. Couple of issues i want to resolve but thats all. As far as less taxing on a rally, well i dunno. In the vid you only see the start/finish. Theres another 40 miles of climbs, forest, water, mud etc etc each lap. 100 plus miles or so of good hard slog. My helmet cam packed up though so i cant add anything from there which is a shame. Still a bloody good laugh and probably more fun than a full blown enduro though as you do get a break on the liason sections.

Just out of curiosity, how many times did you refuel? What is the fuel consumption like?

How does the suspension do over the whoops? Does it have enough power to wheelie without the clutch?
