Actually, that is quite possible for a man at the age of twenty (if that is his real age, of course). The effective range of the M16 against a point target is 601.4 yards, and assuming he has been to the military, is steady with his hands while aiming, and is not trigger happy, he should have both the skill and the patience to take that shot from a standing position, and hit the target dead on.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just stating the possibility of him speaking the truth.

@reachsmells Actually, Bungie was trying to get back in touch with Halo 1's roots. The games did differ, but they were all awesome. My only disappointment was Halo 3 being so overpowered. Halo 2, you see a brute and your like "Shhhhiiiiii...." In 3 it's like "meh." But the games never bored me as Halo is a game where amazing happens, both in multiplayer and campaign. But the armor abilities in Reach make things interesting. Variety and specialty. They've made more amazing moments than anything!
