Good points. Only thing I see that might be a problem is the asphalt. You try making a pup sit on asphalt in South Louisiana in the summer and you'll fry his eggs.

Evan must be a left handed shooter based on where he is heeling the dog, I should know, I am a southpaw also (No pun intended). Great stuff, his training methods are solid in producing not only a good hunting dog, but a good family dog.

Thanks for your kind words. But in reality, the trainer here is my friend Steve. I had been mentoring him in his start-up training business. We train all our dogs as two-sided heelers. Steve and I are both right-handed, but try to keep our dogs in balance.

I am glad to hear that! I do the same with our dogs. I have even made up a little drill where I give the heel command and tap my leg on the side I want them to heel to. Then we keep walking to let them know that they are to remain on that side and all of the same rules apply as to the position and other commands. Some try to go back to the side that they are comfortable with, I then reset them to the side I want, but with a little patience and work they get it.
