Saban has said many times that he handled being asked about our HC position horribly & he would have  done it differently if he had the chance.

If people want to vilify Saban over this then they should vilify ALL coaches that do it, like Tubbs & Meyer.

He is a great human being. He gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity and makes no mention of it. If you read his book and LISTEN to what he says and watch how he lives his life you would know that. The media backed him into a corner when he was in Miami. Just like they do to all coaches. Coach Saban is probably one of the most honest and upstanding men in the game. I can't help it that Auburn is just not a really big time program like Alabama is.

He coached under Coach Bill in Cleveland, Glanville in Houston and had over a decade of experience in the NFL, so I'm not surprised he wanted to try the NFL. I can't blame Spurrier or Petrino for that matter as they both returned. I guess I can see it both ways. I do think he'll be in Bama till' retirement though, :)

Im not an Auburn or Bama Fan but the truth is Nick Saban may be overrated. He is 4-5 in bowl games. For many seasons , he didnt make bowl games. He has never had an undefeated season. He has lost to mid major teams more than once. Every great coach has at least had an un undefeated regular season: Bob Stoops, Steve Spurrier, Tommy Tuberville, Bobby Bowden, Tom Osbourne, Bear Bryant, Joe Paterno, Jim Tressel, Jimmy Johnson. Until you guys stop losing to teams like La-Mo, I'm gonna side with Saban being over rated. He's got way tougher recruiting opponents and a better SEC overall to coach against. CTT has landed some solid recruits and we only lose somewhere around 15-20 seniors.We have younger guys to step up and haven't let us down yet. Saban will have a way tougher time than he did at LSU
