I watched this video not expecting much more than another somewhat passable attempt at covering Hendrix, but MAN OH MAN! My hat is definitely off to you guys! Not only is the guitarist outstanding, but the bassist and drummer themselves are a force to be reckoned with! I just added this to my favorites where I will be returning to enjoy it frequently. Thanks for this performance - it literally made my jaw drop open!

I Love the name you've picked.

I knew Steve in Arizona, I used to bug him often when he worked at the music store with Randy and Doug.

I was a big pain in the ass....trying to take the easy road to learning Jimi through Steve.

Like I said, he was very kind about it.

We got to do a show together years later at Tonys. He did his Jimi thing and we did our SRV thing...we burned that place down!

I'll never forget those days....they were special to be sure.

MSH.no you gotta call yrselves something different. I started playing this clip and the immediate thought was these guy are just mimming the hendrix track. I soon changed my mind when I realised it wasn't the original one. How many hours of freaking practice did it take to come up with something so close to the original? Never heard anything remotely like that. As nuclear944 said,make a record,even if it is just covers of Jimi. His music was back in fashion with teenagers, about 16y ago so do it

Thanks or the great comment. You don't have to worry, MSH is my name and I'm not in the band.  I'm sure he spent many hours/days/years getting it down. He has made many recordings but due to legal reasons, can't sell them. At least, not yet. We'll have to see what happens in the future.

Very nice of you to say. Thanks. The amp is an actual 1969, 100 watt Plexi. Steve does use a 1987x re-issue (yr.1996) too, but not in any of these videos, so far.

I have to answer for Steve. I have asked about this in the past. For sure, known pedals used. An Electro Harmonix Big Muff(set mildly)during opening lead guitar part. A Tycobrahe Octavia during one solo in the middle. But the general Fuzz/distortion is not remembered. If you click on my name, you can see most of the pedals and amp. Steve says that even though most fuzzes sound different from each other, they can be similar too and would switch them, depending on room sound

The best thing is that it sounds genuine and has that same call the original does..it doesn't sound like those covers a modern guitarist like Steve Vai or Yngiew whatever-his-name-is. ... I know he'd like to play in Europe, but that hasn't happened yet. That's very nice of you to say, but I don't think Steve feels he can surpass Randy Hansen's popularity. Randy has the look as well as being a really good guitarist, so it's not an easy contest. Also, except for the YouTube watchers, Steve is almost unknown and has never been asked to do a tour and I know, nobody important has tried to contact him, through me. Maybe some day an album will come out and pave the way.
