Both characters are brilliant, but I have to say that The Joker wins because he is just so much more complex than the average villain. He messes Batman around for for the heck of it, and he doesn't even have a plan! He just wings it. Plus he's been around for decades longer than Venom, so his character has had the time to develop into something that is totally unforgettable.

@thecapone45 I say that the Joker ISN'T insane. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing, and he's smart enough to make EVERYONE including Batman, think he is insane. It's all part of the joke. Why do you think he's laughing every time he gets locked up in Arkham? He's fooled them all into thinking he's crazy so they'll lock him up in a place he can escape from whenever he wants, instead of frying his ass in the chair at Black Gate Prison. It's kinda funny when you think about it. :-)

Venom was a good villain in my opinion. He reminds me of my personal favorite movie villain Alec Trevelyan. They want revenge which anybody in their scenario would want but they're taking it too far. He wasnt the worst villain ever he just didnt represent his character in books that well. Venom in the books was different he only wanted to kill peter and only peter he never endangered others unless he had too. He did threaten MJ but he never really tried to kill her. He would only use her as a lore and he did do that in SM3 but he would have let her die and not care the comic venom wouldnt do that.

In the movies, Joker was portrayed very well. In S3, Venom was destroyed. He was in the movie for a total of ten min. and thats what many spiderman fans din't want to happen. They wanted a full hour of Venom!! In the comics they are equal to me. Both are very menacing and main villains to batman and spiderman. So i couldn't decide!
