Back in the day the Delfonics were the sound that everyone waited to hear at the house party's, 25 cents to get in, down in the basement with the red light on, black light in the back room, slowing grinding against the wall and the dj was anybody standing next to the record player, looking at the 45's (we didn't call them turntables back then), thpse were the days! Ole skool
Wow that was and still is music I remember sneaking in the house parties with the blue lights I can now confess as an adult yes Mummy I was at the house party in Harlem New York that you told me not to go to
Saw them in performance @ DAR Constitution Hal in DC with the Dellsl once. Fabulous. Not sure if they were all original members as this video or when they originally recorded this song, but who cares ? Love The Delfonics !
@uglyricky78 i beleive you about the delfonics being your biggest influence as a metal singer although I can't put it together in my head...metal is a rasppy falsetto, NO OFFENSE, but how could you possibly sound as sweet as these guys?????
@mikebarnes5194 lol I never said I sounded "sweet". I grew up listening to these guys and others in this genre and time in which influenced me to sing, Metal singing came later in my teen years... I still enjoy listening to old school soul.. you'd be surprised how many metal bands are influenced by the delfonics and other groups like them...
THUMBS UP if you miss GIRL GROUPS. Click on my groups channel we're called DIARY & We come out this year!! Please subscribe. & We'll show you what we've been working on.
You notice how little Micheal Jackson looks like the lead singe of the Delphonics! Micheal always said the Delphonics was his favorite singing groups~ and proof of that is on The Jackson Five's first Album where he sang another great Delphonic Classic ,called Can You Remember,That little kid at that time~ TORE THis one up!~ He did this as well~ i just read that the Jackson 3 are going on a international tour this year, Marlon,Tito and Jackie, that should be interesting ! Jermaine is a prick!
How are musical classical videos accessible to the public, other than having to view them here once they are posted? Musical stores don't have them. The old TV stations do, but they won't release them to the public. Tons of $ may be involved with royalties. Anyone knows?
@365hiphophead Darlin tears don't know color just like music do you hear it any different then your friends . This is a magic song and sounds as good today as it did when it came out in 1968 I was 16 years old and loving it. So enjoy all you can. Peace
Great Song,Great group! Did anyone realize that one of those background singers is Major Harris whos biggest hit was 'Love Won"t Let Me Wait' Great Voices to>
The Delfonics,u cant get any better than that.. Lowriding back in my days with ur lady and listening to the delfonics. Thats what its all about.. That was music back then.
Hope every Delfonics fan, especially the old guys like me, find their way to this lovely post. The guys are in fine voice, and this laid back, intimate, performance, is quite unlike their usual shows back then , and I saw a lot of them Emphasis on the singing alone is really, really nice. Thanks for a great post
Dig the live orchestra the artist use to perform with...so fly...no comparison...
