amazing...i miss their talent...still we have 3 perfect records and some cool b sides that are worth hunting down...check out "nothing sweet" from the summertime single
I know it's been a dozen years since we've last heard from Harriet and David, but I'm not giving up hope yet. :) Call me crazy, but my intuition and hunger for more tells me Harriet will come back to us any day now. It's been telling me that for over a decade. :) Hopefully, our faith will be rewarded. Any day now!!! You just have to have hope and hold on! :)
If they decide to come back, they already much older. Pushing 50 older. If they decide to write new music, they probably won't write songs that are as catchy and fun but more mature and toned down. Harriet's voice will have changed and probably won't be as great. They have spent many years being on hiatus when they could have been putting out more music in their youth. But seriously, ANY NEW news from them would be very pleasing. But I can't agree. They won't come back at all.
@comebackharriet keep that hope and dream alive, you are not alone...would love to hear some new music with maybe with their daughter singing on it as well :) Thanks so much for the posts, brings back some great memories of the late '97 show I saw in Boston.
@comebackharriet (female signing in here under a males name: ... I HOPE SO! ... I LOVE THEM, AND I LOVE HOW YOU CAN TELL HE LOVES HER WHILE HE's PLAYING BEHIND HER!)
I understand but there hasn't been ANY talk whatsoever on a possible reunion since they just simply 'stopped' WAY back in 97, they are all pushing 50 and that's particularly not good for their female vocalist, no one but the very few Sundays fans even care about them coming back where as the Smiths are popular everywhere so more people care about them, and if the Sundays haven't been back THIS long, they're pretty much done forever. I'm sure by now they all feel skeptical over a Sundays reunion.
First of all, Harriet is only 46. Ann Wilson of Heart is pushing 60, and her voice is just as strong now. She is still touring too. So is Pat Benatar, and she's 57. Susanna Hoffs is 50, and she still tours with the Bangles. Her voice is still great. Harriet is a spring chicken compared to them. :) However, I did read that Harriet was a smoker in her early teens and 20s. I don't care. Don't kill my dream of a new CD. :)
Sorry but you should realize it's never gonna happen. They won't put out new stuff anymore. All those people you mentioned are in big bands and have had much bigger success all over the world, thus, had a much more significant impact with the media. The Sundays are great to 'us' but most people don't give a crap enough to get them to come back. I only see The Sundays doing a 'one off' show like the Cocteau Twins did @ Coachella but that's it. The Smiths refused to do the same even for 5 mil!
I'm so regretful that I could never see them in person. Beautiful talent.

Blind was such a masterful album and a real piece of art much like RWA and S&S is. Shame...

It would be less likely for The Sundays to reunite than even The Smiths
