This is probably the best paintball out there and it only cost around $40 for me.
One thing the video didnt mention is that, you can actually put the air tank in the bag in front of the vest. That way you can make the vest weight evenly if you have alot of pods in the back.
Also if you have w32 or less, this vest will be too big for you. I am 5'9" and w32. I have to adjust the vest to the smallest to fit me right.
It is a snug fit for me during the 2009 season because I am a large guy. I have been losing weight over the winter and I just tried my vest on again today. I have lost enough weight to start sucking in the straps. So now I can wear the vest loose or snug. I recommend snug!
hey man, dig the review...makes me wanna get one..affordable ad a nice vest over all...is it possible to attach extra pouches on the sides with alice clips? or ate the quick release buckles in the way?
The Alice clips could potentially work but I think you might run into problems because the main belt is elastic and the side straps are very wide. If you are looking to add another pod pouch, I have used the cheap-o two pod pouches and slide them onto the strap with the big buckles. It does work but it starts to limit your mobility because the vest gets kind of bulky. I am sure that you could find ways to attach more pouches if needed. In my opinion, there is no need to add anything extra.
k cool man.. thanks for the info. i mean, after i get it ill decide from that...i just know how games usually go with me and the group i play with...usually out all day...so yea..haha
Absolutely! I used to take the vest and put it on a five gallon bucket and hosed it down with a little mild detergent. Now I just throw it in the washing machine and wash it in cold water. When its done, air dry it by hanging it up above a fan and opening all of the pockets. I find that putting a couple of crumpled sheets of newspaper in the ID and MAP holder areas work well to get all of the moisture out from behind the clear plastic.
Your question can be answered by watching my video. I also reviewed the pod capacity in the info section.
The cliff note version= the vest has a vertical 4+2 pod configuration on the back. This means that there are 4, 140 round pod pouches and two elastic pod retainers that collapse when the pods have been removed. The dump pouch can hold three 100 round pods. You can hold six -140 round tubes and three - 100 round tubes. Nine pods all together or roughly 1140 paintballs.
check out 9:00. After you undo the straps just lift it over your head. Its not hard to put the vest on or remove it. I have no problem taking the vest on or off when I am in the safe zone. It is comfortable enough to wear all day without wanting to take it off so I usually wear mine all day. I do recommend using a fill whip. The whip lets you fill your tank when it is on your pack without have to remove the vest or your tank from its pouch. Ninja paintball makes a very nice one for $20
I lean more towards the Scout vest. The Broadsword is a great vest. It allows you to customize the arrangement of your pod packs and other pouches. It carries more paint pods than the Scout. I'm not a fan of the tank pack because it is located on the upper back. I also don't like the zipper front because zippers tend to break after awhile. I like the Scout vest because it comes with everything that I need without overloading. I know I am partial to the Scout but the Broadsword is a good vest
My brother is 16 and thin as a rail. The vest has a lot of adjustments in it to make it fit. I have adjusted the vest to fit him well and there was still a little bit of strap left to make it smaller if necessary. Call Spec ops and tell them your height & weight and they can help you figure out if it will fit.
really good video. i go to the specops store a lot to get my gear and everything you've said about the gear was right on. anyone who's looking to get a vest, check speops first! they're more durable, plenty of designs to choose from, as well as colors. can't go wrong with specops!
The Dagger is not a bad vest. I like it because it is lighter and more open to less restrict your movement. If I could make a suggestion- I would recommend the NXe Light Infantry Tactical Vest. It is almost the same configuration as the Dagger vest but I like the waist band much better. The NXe vest has a waist belt that is more adjustable which makes it more comfortable in my opinion. Both vests carry the same amount of pods. The NXE vest can be upgraded to carry more pods if you wish.
thanks alot but im going with the scout you helped a lot im subbing im getting off the there special ops site theres another sale 26 bucks what a deal! and im getting full omnipat jerseys and paints :]
You know what... Only useful thing coming out of Paintball. OmiiPat is also great for airsoft. I Just have to Find some Pouches for my M4... Can those pods hold a M4 magizen?
The front pouch could probably accommodate your magazines but they would probably bounce around. I don't think that the back pod holders would be able to hold the magazines properly. I think that the mags would either be too wide and not slip in. If they did fit they would probably end up falling out because they were meant to hold pods instead of magazines.
No. None of the front pockets come off. The only one that is removable is the radio pouch. You can move that to the left or right shoulder or choose to remove it completely. If you are interested in a vest that has removable pouches, Special Ops Paintball does sell vests like that. The link to their website is in the info section. Just click on their homepage when you follow the link.
You're built like my little brother. It does fit him but it is a little big. The shoulders are adjustable and so are the side straps. It should fit you but it may be on the big side for you.
