hands are awesome and awful at the same time. They can give an image a lovely perspective and movement, but they are such a pain to draw... :C

@Kasopea Hands are no more or less difficult than other body parts. They're just another group of shapes. Since most beginners tend to focus on details rather than overall shapes, hands and feet can seem overwhelming. If you can draw a box and cylinders in perspective, you can draw hands. The key is being able to mentally break down objects/subjects into basic/manageable shapes. 95% of drawing is mental and the success or failure of a drawing takes place during the first 30 sec.

I took several photos of my hands, and then I look at the photos and draw them out on paper.

i just simply look @ my hands instead or from a picture and from there i startt from the fingers and work my way towards the palm. i find that easier. i just sort disportion the knuckles but thats the only thing i get wrong

Using a digital tablet is an alternative to pencil drawing. 1. You can just record the desktop as opposed to having buy a good camera so it'd be cheaper.

2. It's neater. No eraser shavings, opacity and layers can be adjusted to minimize erasing. 3. Don't have to buy a variety of pencils.

I bought my tablet a few days ago and as a person who loves pencil drawing, this is a fantastic alternative. The concept stays the same while at the same time you get a good hand-eye coordination exercise,

Your video shows your skill in drawing, and I praise you for that. However, if this is meant to be instructional then a commentary would be very useful.

In it you could talk about how you start for example. Are you looking at (your) hand and drawing it, or doing all from your imagination? What decisions are you making to get the proportions right? In short, *how* are you drawing this?
