  • Yeah, you're right those were the good ole days!! I remember these wonderful performers used to tear it up in Shreveport back in the 80's!! What happened to real talent??

  • @shreve99 those were the good ole days. I remember seeing Hot Chocolate at the Rainbow in Longview, Texas.... Great times!!!!!

The shows just aren't the same anymore.

  • @fpalisi OMG!! Tiffany Jones!!!! Remember Jan Russel, Jerry Vanover, Stephanie Carr? I go back all the way to the Red Room!

  • @yescandles what about Jennifer George? Did you ever go to the Copa after the red room was gone? I was partnered to Tiffany Jones' best friend CJ Harrington back then. Living in Houston in those days was a blast, and because of the way things have become, nobody will ever know life like it was back then, again....

  • @MrSouthpawtx I am not exactly sure what year I left Houston and moved to Dallas. I vaguely remember Jennifer George. It was after the Dean Coral and Wayne Henley (?) murders of all the young boys they found out by the docks. HPD had such bad National press about not caring about the runaways OR the young hustlers and gays that they really took it all out on us. I remember the beating at Mary's....well...actually all of Montrose paid the price. It wasn't fun anymore for me. I was always afraid.

  • I met Larry through Randy Rider, the DJ at the Copa in Houston. Unlike many of the other drag performers of the time, Larry was gentle, kind, attentive, and genuinely a very NICE man. He was sweet. He was soft-spoken. He did not need to rant or rave. It didn't hurt that he was REALLY good looking in man's clothes too. It is no wonder that he has been able to achieve all the success he has over the ensuing 20 years since I first met him. I wish him the very best in all that he imagines.

  • Larry is incredible! Was the 1st performer I ever saw when I came out in '81. Was blessed to be able to party with him as well as Naomi, Donna, etc...A beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. What a walk down memory lane! All my best to Larry for continued success.. it is well deserved and earned! Love Ya Alwyas
