Good video. I would say just keep documenting your case. Everyone's crohn's disease is different and there may be someone who can relate with your story. It was 1973 and I was 7. I didn't know anyone who had crohn's and felt lost. So keep up the video journal.
Yeah. Bottom line it sucks. Like I said in one video. I think being diagnosed so early makes it easier for me to deal with because that's all I have known. When you get diagnosed when your 18 or older you have to change everything...I think that is more difficult, more likely to reject the idea that you have to deal with it. Good luck my friend.
omg im 10 i was just diognosed with crohns and i hate it but it is going very well with me but it just comes and goes hang in there lindsi we're here for u
Hi, my name is heather. i have crohns and yes it is suckishly bad lol. i made a vid too. i am 12 and i found out i had it in 5th grade! AH right! lol anyway hang in there. cause i know u can! just stay possitive!!!!
hey! im maggie and im 15 too. yeah i was diagnosed with crohn's disease when i was 12ish and it does suck.. im not sure where you live but hopefully im going to camp oasis, too! i cant wait--maybe i'll see you there! -maggie
Hang in there my friend...many days it will tear you down but some how it makes you stronger...so keep your chin up...diagnosed when I was 7...now I am 42....43 in Feb...two resections plus liver complications... just remember you are not alone.
Try marijuana cause the steroids suck. Im sorry for you I was 14 when i found out i have it. Talk to your Dr and family if its good for you its good for everyone there is no reason to stay inside if you dont have to.
I'm so grateful you put this up. A friend of mine was just diagnosed with Crohn's disease and I'm glad I got to hear your perspective on living with it. It was very very educational as well, thank you so much. And good luck as well. I can't imagine having to live with a disease. God bless you.
My heart goes out to you Lindsay! I have crohns too, got diagnosed 2 years ago when I was 24. It really does suck but what can we do? We have to live with it and try not to let it affect our spirit too much. I know it's hard to be happy when you're in pain but being depressed all the time won't work either!
One person changed their diet and cured themselves of Crohns. They said cut out all sugar from the diet first ... not even one crumb of processed sugar was allowed. Sweeteners that were allowed included fresh squeezed fruit juice or honey. The other major "no no" was fake sugar like aspartame ... very bad. The body thinks it's sugar and releases enzymes for it but there is no sugar available to process so the enzymes do more harm than good. Maybe worth a try.
It's not possible to cure yourself from Crohn's disease. The person you are speaking of just went into remission and that's great for them. I've had Crohn's since I was 9 and I am now 27 so I've pretty much tried everything including 2 surgeries and am due to have another one in the very near future. The disease affects everyone in different ways so what works for one may not work for then next.
im 14 and a half. diagnosed wid it when i was 13, since then sick, depressed, hardly grow, personality gone crap. i feel like shit, and all the the fukn researchers out there never find a cure for it because ther noobs. im like the smallest in my year, and things never get better. i feel like ive been left behind whilst everyone grows up
Hey I got down to around 95 lbs, too! I'm 16 and became sick about 3 years ago (January of 2005, I was 13) and was diagnosed that June. It sucked... and I'm still sick to this day, but it's fun to watch videos like these and laugh because I know that I'm not the only one and it's silly to think so. :)
One day about a month ago I felt sharp pains and a slight ,"burning sensation". So i thought it was a pendicitis, I got a colonoscapy and they said there was nothing there. Then a day later they called and said that they had done a blood check and I did infact have crohns disease. To all you fellow people who have it....FIGHT IT!
(P.S. I take somethign called Pentasa for it. It causes my upper legs to feel soar and restless, what can i do to stop it withought using medicine?)
You did good kid, but there is a serious humming noise in the speaker, yes I to have that lovely diease. Don't worry it gets better. See if you can get put on Remicade, It works for me.ask your Dr.
haha thanks. yeah, that humming noise is really annoying! i don't know how to fix it! and i am on remicade, i have had 11 infusions i think. and i started it in oct. 2006
No it does not hurt. I hope remicade proves to be very effective for you and put you into remission; which means you will live a normal life as long as your on this drug. :)
It hurts a slight bit. It is through an IV so that is all that hurts. It only hurts when they put the IV in but after that, for the next 2 hrs. you cant really feel it.
Its harder when your veins are small or like mine large but they roll around.
Actually it's autoimmune, which means the immune system is attacking the body. So it's like the immune system is eating alive the digestive system and never stops.
There has been research that it's good for people with crohns cause it calms them, but overeating with crohns tears up your stomach really easily. the homeopathic is what i use
marijuana is for the chronic pain. And they give it intravenously. They don't just give you a bag or weed and tell you to smoke it because of the bad effects on your lungs. But crohn's is added to the list for recieving it.
Hello i have had Cron's disease for 21 yrs and it has it's up and down points. U can have a happy life with this disorder so keep your head up. Only strong people can handle such a strong illness remember that!
wow. i got diagnosed with crohn's when i was 24. i can't imagine having been so sick when i was as young as you. i really hope everything works out well for you because i know how hard it is having this as an adult, let alone as a kid. good luck!
really good story, happy to see you have a sense of humor !! i have crohn's since 37yrs and am still alive ! try not to take cortisons and never drink cowmilk !! and love yourself !!
no cortison(/daughter:) 'cause it doesn't help and gives too many side-effects, no cow-milk 'cause of the lactose, anyway Crohn's comes from cows as the cow-disease called John's (or Joan's) disease is very simular to Crohn's, and Crohn's is only in countries where people drink cow-milk, there's a doctor in a London hospital who searchs since years where Crohn's come from, and he says it's probably from cows but can't prove it.
i've to search for his name, once i recorded the interview on dvd
I hate barium yuck. I just had an upper GI with small bowel follow through and I had to drink 4 cups of barium. I also hate that gallon of stuff for colonoscopy's I never drink it. I do the 2 day prep.
Don't let it get you down. Achieving remission is possible. I have dealt with it for about 10 yrs and been in remission for at least half of that time. If you or anyone who reads this has any questions contact me I will be glad to help.
I have crohns also. Mine has been in remission for 5 or 6 years now. Mine like Charlottelvzryan's is only in the small bowel. Sounds like you know about the support groups and camps, but did anyone ever tell you that because your under 18 you may be elgible for getting your wish granted from the make-a-wish foundation? You should have your parents check it out or ask your doctor.
hey ! ive got crohns too, heading for remision i hope ! mines only in the small bowel so imlucky i guess. great video but the noise in the background is annoying lol keep it up good luck and keep smiling xxx
You did a great job! Stay strong beautiful lady. I know first hand how hard Chron's Disease is to deal with.
