Does this technique still apply when using a dslr in manual mode? For example, couldn't you just purposefully use settings that over exspose, like increasing the iso? Anyones help with this would be appreciated!
when you are in manual mode you alter the aperture or shutter speed to under expose your picture, usually a meter in your view finder will show correct exposure , then you adjust your settings to make the meter go into the minus. cheers

Hi. I have found this through cameralabs and have been going through your site. I have just bought the Nikon D40X which should arrive anyday. Thanks for doing this and I hope you do more videos for novices like me.
Excellent!

Can anyone answer this?
I take a photo with a comp. around -2.0 and then another at +2.0, and do not see a difference at all.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
