hmm that was bad grammar. ok the leaves are turning yellow on my lucky bamboo shoots. they are rooting in water. but tue cure is to put them in water right? but they already are so what can i do?
Thanks so much Jacob. I have my first lucky bamboo plant and had no idea what to do with it. Your videos have given me all the information I think I need. Great job!
@Jayson745 None taken. I completely agree, but keep in mind this was made last year. I have since some what become more experienced with video making and understand the importance of keeping things short and understandable in my videos. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the tips. I had to propagate mine because the mother plants went yellow on me. They were maybe at the end of life as I've had them a long time. I put my cuttings in miracle gro diluted and less than a week later, they have roots. I hope they keep growing as the originals were a gift.
omg i laughed so harrrrd when you "upgraded to a bigger knife" and then pulled out that huge ass thing. lolll. this helps a lot. i didn't cut my cutting like that. I cut it flush with the side of the stalk where it was growing. i'm going to go fix it now.
Hi friend I' like you to help me beacuase I have a bamboo three years ago and I had had it with water at the midle of its stalk and it lived nice all that time, it had 7 leaves and in this time I removed trhee or four leaves because they got dried, but i forgot to water it a month or maybe two beacuase of the school and it was very dried so I watered it and it got OK like before but one or two weeks later it got its stalk dried and began losing all its leaves, just has one now, what can I do?
hi, the new leaves on my lucky bamboo are white dried while the rest of the mature leaves are fine. What is causing this? Should fish tank water be fine?
@ssj7warrior Because dracaena sanderiana, somehow managed to mystically propagate, prior to human beings living in established dwellings, and having gardens...it's what's known as 'nature'...
@jimbe1969 Yeah, I feel bad for you because you believe that the dancaena plant just "MYSTICALLY" appeared. Due to research, it came from a breed of corn plants.
@ssj7warrior Native to Cameroon...yes... Well, I'm sorry...it never occurred to me that you would be so out of touch, that you wouldn't recognize sarcasm...but I suppose, taking into account that you don't understand how plants propagate without human aid, that's not too far of a stretch...btw, you misspelled dracaena... :)
@jimbe1969 I don't care if I misspelled it, it could've been a typo. All because I don't understand this plant does not mean I don't understand plants. I know how plants reproduce, by seed or by Psuedopods. I understand c3, c4, and CAM plants. This specific plant, I did not know about it's reproducing ways. But, I'm not the one claiming magic makes plants.
@ssj7warrior You are just looking to run your mouth for no reason to feel better about your life. You can even make fun of where I placed the comment as well if you'd like. Go do the world a favor, die.
@ssj7warrior It must be easy for you to sit behind a screen and talk shit. You know nothing about me. All I did was ask a question and you had to be a fucking jerk and try to belittle people. I didn't google that, I am a MLT student and a biology student you fucking ass. I asked a question and you replied asking what I meant. I stated in layman terms. Then you became an ass and said magic happen and plants were born like a diety was at hand conjuring plants.
So if I cut the stalk in half, so my top half has the leaf on it, and the bottom half has the roots, both pieces will be fine to keep growing? The bottom with the roots will grow new leafs on its own and the top with the leafs will grow new roots?
I'm more concerned - can you leave what you cut? and it will grow something from there, or seal it with wax? (without cutting and making the "center" of your bamboo shorter?
@LuckyBambooExpert, How insecure you must feel if you think that. NO! I just mentioned something you might find interesting. It could be because I'm in FL, I don't know.
@JonaVicis It doesn't matter where you live because lucky bamboo doesn't grow outside anyways. If you get roots in ten days, well that's great. But I personally don't care, this isn't a competition.
@LuckyBambooExpert, No, it isn't, so why make it one? I was surprised at your reply, because I watch your videos to learn. Some of the other comments on here are right, you do seem to take comments the wrong way.
cont... By the way, Yes FL is VERY different than other States. Depending where you are, being in FL can make a BIG difference in the way indoor plants grow. Day light is longer here than Northern States right now. We can keep windows open and get fresh air, not dry heated air, in most other places now. A growing "Expert" should know that.
What ever the reason, I was sharing info with you that I thought you might like to hear, so, you're welcome.
@JonaVicis Alright man sorry if I took your comment the wrong way, its just that I have had allot of people sending me hate mail and I am just sick of it. So I thought you were doing the same. But I guess not. Sorry about that.
@LuckyBambooExpert well, this is not a lab creation right? maybe your weather is not good to grow outside. I read some comments in your videos, and i not here to disrespect you, don't get me wrong.
But if it is not a human manipulation in labs or something like that, this plant comes from nature, right? So, how it is a houseplant? How it can't grow outside? :P
Lot of plants can't tolerate full sun, i think lucky bamboo is one of them...lots of plants grow in shadow or mid shadow.
@hirocaster Alright try this. Plant your lucky bamboo outside and see how long it last. And then get back to me. It wont last more then a couple weeks. THANK YOU!
great Video man! I thought my plants were being neglected somehow beause of the slow growth, but in actual fact they are growing quite well. just did it to my first lucky bamboo and ready to watch the sealing vid thanks bud!!
how about with one that has a shorter stem? ive had it for a long time now, and the leaves havent grown much taller. does it matter or can i grow a new one with just that? also, do you have to cut the stem after cutting off the leaves or will it live fine without cutting it if it has other leaves already?
@TheFadingSkyy sorry. ill try to explain it better. basically, my lucky bamboo has two stalks where the leaves are coming out. they havent grown very tall in the time that ive had it. will that effect anything if i go ahead and cut the stalk off? and if i only cut one off, will i still have to cut part of the main stem down a little like you showed in your video? that is, if im not too worried about it growing more leaves
Hi Jacob...My name is dimitris agoropoulos...I'm 13 years old and i live in Karditsa a town in Greece...yesterday my father bought me 2 lucky bamboos but then i realised that the beginning of the roots(the part where the roots and the bamboo are linking)is black and the roots are white... is that normal???what can i do???Can i save the roots or i will have to cut them???
I did as you said in your video and my stalk is dying now. :( The leafing is fine. The stalk started turning yellow. So I thought I'll re-propagated and cut out the yellow part but it turn yellow again and it's soft. Why? I use drinking water intead of tap. Always have and my stalks or leafs have never turn yellow. I also put the green green fertilizer. It's their any hope for my stalk or is it dead. :(
thank you for this video. if you make your first cut below the top of the old stalk, can you just place the new cutting into water without making a second cut? why not use the big knife everytime?
Question. I have a stalk that is approx 6-7 years old. It is about 6-8 inches tall and has a huge offshoot growing off of it near the top that I was going to cut. When I removed the main stalk from the soil I discovered another offshoot growing from the bottom of the same stalk that started below the soil line. This is causing the original stalk to yellow. Any suggestions on saving this? Thanks in advance. Great videos BTW!
