  • Imagine what a wonderful place the world would be if we taught soldiers to throw pots like this instead of grenades....

  • Very nice!! this has helped me improve, i started this winter Check out my work on on facebook if you have time i have alot of my pots on there search Blue Earth Pottery, thanks

  • how in the world did that piece not fall off about half way through?!

  • erotic

  • what is up with his head?

  • @colieollie0308

Watch Simon Leach... he does something similar. I always assumed he was just rapidly changing his viewing perspective to ensure symmetry, but it could just be a subconscious thing.

    Humans are weird. ;)

  • @colieollie0308

simply put, throwing pottery is mesmerizing.

  • You are very very talented. I am in ceramics 2 in school and I understand how much work and effort it takes to create such a masterpiece. But what you did is just amazing

  • That's Awsome !

But. whats wrong with his head? .-.

  • Epoustouflant, magnifique, impressionnant, quel artiste ! BRAVO !

  • joining those two pieces, that was intense! so technical -a real master

  • This is serious skill and dedication rarely seen in today's factory turned items. These are from the very origins, "Hand Made" in the true sense!

    Absolutely beautiful and amazing video!

  • The finish product is absolutely amazing, you take the size of wheel throwing to another level. I started throwing last week. Hoping to be able to make big vases eventually

  • those vases are monsters compared to the ones I make

  • beautiful and precise.

  • You're no Patrick Swayze, but you are good.

  • why do you turn your head as this?

  • How did you get the two to fit together so perfectly?! That's amazing stuff :)

  • I am a High School student that is currentlly taking ceramics, I would just like to say that your work is incerdible and i will keep looking to your works for insperation.

  • Great stuff, Roy - fascinating to watch how it all goes together. nice I can share with those I've gifted with your work.

  • Thank you for your comments!

  • You are the man. Fantastic work!

  • how different is porcelain from clay? as far as throwing...

  • imagine throwing hard butter or cream cheese.

  • when he flipped that other pot to section it i was like o.0

  • How long does one have to use the propane fire before adding the second pot?

  • You are a true master potter.

    from a humble production potter.

  • Wonderful. He's really getting into the groove while pulling up the wall. =)

  • good glaze work

  • Holy heck. Wow you're amazing!

  • thats insane. i could never do such a thing. im really good with small things. and slightly medium vases. but that is way out of my league

  • Do you have a website where you sell your work? Where are you located and how much do your pieces go for? They are beautiful.

  • Hello, Roys prices are reasonable but you would need to contact him directly for specific prices.

He has various websites - just type his name in Goggle and a bunch of websites will show up. Roy is very approachable and friendly so e-mail him with questions. He is wonderful teacher also. I have been taking lessons from him for years and I am constantly amazed by his creativity.

  • OK! Throwing Competition! One peace of clay 25 pounds or less, who can throw the, tallest, widest, biggest, cleanest, nicest, best shaped vase! Winner is immortalized on U-Tube forever. Every one can judge six months from now. 8/12/09. So on 2/12/09 we will tally the votes. Label the video Throwing Competition and your name. I will favorite your entry so all can see. Also when you have an entry subscribe to my Channel and I will add your video.

  • Thnks MrAadam :)

  • good for you.....

  • beautiful work. thanks for sharing the process.

  • those are amazing! I bet he has to be VERY careful when they're in the bony dry stage... you accidentally knock it over, and it would break. what a pain that would be.

  • We think this is amazing too, what an artist. We love this stuff and a made a video of some really amazing Japanese ceramics on our channel

  • do you use a johnson slip or an orange glaze to get the finished color?

  • my name is Roy... cool!

    (the video is cool...)

  • i love the way you chose to glaze the vases. Very nice, perhaps i will try some similar sized vessels some time this year.

  • sexy forms and awesome glaze... Thank you for the video.

  • thats really impressive but why does he keep moving his head

  • it is form of art. 1 spin on the wheel is each "nod". by nodding my head, I'm able to be "one" with the wheel and my work, it helps me focus as well as go into a trance. Kunisaki Roy Yuichiro

  • @FinsMovieProjects Interesting but I have heard it simply called "Potters Tick".

  • @watoneasnt concentration

  • cool~

    bon courage lol

  • magnificent work!!!!

  • such artful technique!

  • i dont know about that. the nodding and head roles seem to be dead on.

  • Very impressed

  • gorgeous!

  • this artist has an excellent art...hats off to that

but y the heck does he keep on shaking his head in a circular fashion? is that also art?hahaha

  • a piece of plywood :)

  • sugoi ;]

  • thnx!

  • So beautiful

  • wow wow wow. i'm sorry about your shoulder and wrist. some day i want to make vases of that stature.

  • Thank you for all of your nice comments. I've committed my life to perfecting the skill for many years.Unfortunatly, I don't know if I can make large pieces do to bad wrist and shoulder by making these.

    Glad you enjoy the video!

  • Insperation wow. I play guitar as well doing potery and i would like to know what song was that playing during the video and can you give me some other artists that play that same style.

  • absolutely stunning work! I was so surprised when he put two pots together, and it turned out beautifully

  • how old is roy and how is he so good?

and is the drawing on the glaze black copper oxide?

  • That is absolutely awesome!. I love them both.

  • Thanks, nice to hear feedback. Roy is just great.
