  • he talk fast

  • Is Camp Climax a finishing school?

  • @gawne1969

    no, it's a comeprehensive

  • lol i love when the guy offers to pay for the funeral expenses and he says my pleasure

  • Sue Lyon is the most beautiful girl EVER...Sue, if you're out there, I'm your BIGGEST fan.

  • lol sounds like Quilty's saying "Mister Swain" ... isn't that the surname of the actress who played the 1997 Lolita?

  • That music is so fitting it felt ridiculous.

  • Camp Climax? LOL seriously

  • Lolita looks way to mature in this version. The actresses starring in movies back then all looked 17 or 18 to begin with, and the men always looked older. There doesn't seem to be anything disturbing when you look at these 2 together. The 1997 version is way better and Swain is perfect in it!

  • @UESwifey

What? The actress, which played Lolita in the original, was even two years younger than Swain. And imo she also looks younger.

  • @UESwifey Climax = orgasm, an unfortunate name for a summer camp. I don't think it was in the book, just another little joke of Kubrick's I suppose.

  • @Hendrikdevuile Oh, no. It's from the book. This version was actually written in part by the book's original author. There are a lot of "little jokes" in the book.

  • @Hendrikdevuile it was in the book, nabokov wrote the screenplay primarily i believe.

  • lolita's got gams

  • I love the weird faces Quilty makes when Hum is asking about the bed situation. Also, I love how it's a "state police" convention. How . . . . . . ironic?

  • well red me if you want, but the background- the music, the slightly funny atmosphere and everything makes it less riveting for me.

Gosh, each to his own, there's really no need for red flags.can you not live in a world where other people have an opinion different to you?

  • @Tordy1 I think the older version picked up on all the subtle humor and nuances in the book that made it so terribly clever. This is the version Nabokov himself was involved with. But it certainly does seem to lack the seriousness of the situation. The newer version picks up on the darker serious message of the text, but leaves out the humor. Each movie has its strengths and weaknesses.

  • No,no... I have read the book... He is about 38 and later, during the book 40, 42 and so on... Not 50 belive me...

  • Why Humbert looks so old? He is not 37 or 38 surely.... Can somebody tell me why? Greetings:) PoZdRaV:):)

  • In the book, he's in his 50's. He's supposed ot be old. Derp.

  • Camp climax ROFL

  • best camp name EVER!

  • I think this version has a better portrayl of how manipulative Humbert Humbert really is. The 1997 version makes him seem like such a tortured nice guy.

  • The "laaa, lalalala laaaa" background song is supposed to highlight the fact that Lolita is a gum-chewing, pink sweater-wearing teenager, that's all.

  • State police convention.

I love the look on Humbert's face.

He's so guilty. He wants to boink the hell out of Lolita LOL

  • the song "laaa, lalalala, laaaa" is annoying

  • got love the movie but the background song sucksss lalaaa its so annoying and cheezy

  • That was a real song back in 1962...the Ventures did it. "Lolita Ya Ya." I like it..

  • Morbidly funny and more than Humbert could have dreamed. The funeral has even been paid for!

  • Camp Climax.....wasn't that the one founded by Dick Gozinya.....?

  • State Police convention! LMAO The look on his face, hilarious!

  • Does anyone else here think the name of the camp is unbelievably funny.... Camp Climax...lol

  • the '97 version (and every remake of anything, for that matter) can eat me out

  • 97's version is way much better

  • i must say that the Claire Quilty in this version was more enjoyable. the 1997 Quilty was just disgustingly hideous, and made it hard for me to imagine Lolita running off with him, when sexy Jeremy Irons was playing Humbert lol.

  • There was more nudity in the 97 Lolita..

  • if i need nudity, i'll watch porn lol.

besides, that was a body double. dominique swain was too young to be having sex scenes with men at that time.

  • Actually, that was Melanie Griffith. Not Meg Ryan.

  • omg sue lyon (lolita) was radiating sex...very talented

  • I Rember My uncle Telling Me That Every Print (almost.Of Lolita) Was Burned Because the Catholic curch tought it was wayyyy to outthere......so My uncle Being the adventorous Cinephile that he is Hoped Of to France and saw it there.....Go Uncle John.

  • God, this movie is so darkly hilarious.

  • Do the boys go to Camp Ejaculation?

  • i know climax wtf??????????

  • lol i found that weird too

  • What's judo,exactly?

  • it's a martial art like a cross between karate and wrestling

  • What the hell kind of camp name is that?

  • camp climax!!! brilliant!
