The inferiority of the AR15, vis a vis the AK, is apparent from the need to use a tool; and from all those itsy-bitsy pieces - sure to be lost in the field.
In addition, the AR's direct gas impingement system means that its action is sprayed with hot, corrosive gas every time it's fired.
To top it all off, its tight tolerances make it intolerant to sand and suchlike.
@23021955 comeing from a guy that owns both i can say you dont know shit. ak need tools to.. corrosive gas depends on ammo and aks that use corrosive ammo can also rust... Also look up ar vs ak sand test the ak jams to... both guns are completely different from each other aks are more blunt and ars are more percise dont go around saying ones better there different.
@hunteraja You don't need tools or a round to do a basic field strip on an AK to clean it. I've seen that video, that test is rigged. I have a video where a guy put even more sand in the receiver and the AK only has one misfire out of 30 rounds.
@esh325 you need the cleaning kit in the butt stock to clean the rifle its a tool so is the cleaning rod. aks do jam in sand all guns do.. if sand gumms up your trigger your rifle will jam. also to take the fireing pin apart you need a pin. its not nesecary for basic cleaning... i just like to clean my rifles like someone with ocd. aks are not unstopabul they can break.
@hunteraja We were talking about taking the rifle apart. The AK does not need any apparatuses to be taken apart like the AR15 does. I wasn't saying the AK couldn't jam in sand, but I would say it does far better then other rifles.
@esh325 idk iv taken the pins out with my finger its hard as hell but not Impossible iv had aks were gas blocks as so damn hard to get off i needed chanel locks to get it off... it all depends on quality. but are ars really that hard to take apart it took me maybe a hour to learn how to take it apart. people who say there complex probably cant get through the 3rd grade... i do agree on the sand part but they still can jam in it.
@hunteraja In your opinion (because you own both) is there a difference in reliability between the ak series and an ar with a gas piston design like the LWRCs or remington's rgp?
@Inklebonker1 I have only shot direct gas ars.... Gas piston ar's do tend to be a little more reliable then Di's, so iv heard. They claim they run better then Di ar's over the long run and probably are. Ak's are still more reliable because of loose tolerances in the rifle. the gas piston makes the ars bolt stay cleaner but the tighter tollarances in a ar do make it less reliable then a ak. Also a ar with a gas piston will make it a little less accurate but not by much.
@hunteraja Thank you for the reply, also what about remington's ACR its components are not as tight as the AR and it works with a gas piston. How do you think this system stacks up to the AKs (which i use as the standard for reliability).
That 5.56 NATO is really good beacous is wounds a lot and kills but it has a higher wound rate which is good beacous the stats show that for every army in the world when there us one wounded man than 4 other soilders have to stop killing people put down there weapon beacon toatley defenseless and help that 1 wounded solider and then are soilders will aim at the 4 solders heads and kill them. M16 forever
That bolt is soooo easy to disassemble compared to a Ross. I am afraid to even touch my bolt after reading all the reports of people having half their faces ripped off. Great video!
@hardcorecomb They're ever so slightly different. I believe it's ok to shoot .223 out of a gun chambered in 5.56, but not the other way around (the case neck is a little different, and 5.56 is slightly higher pressure).
I never expected to see a gun video from you, Tyler! 90% of my subscriptions are to gun channels, but I was confused when I saw this in your feed. Good vid though, man!
@Riflemanm16a2 Hmm, after looking at your channel, I have realized that most of your videos are gun related and that your really old videos are no longer posted.
M16 is more accurate. In real life thats what counts.

@hunteraja the M16's take down pins are designed to be able to be pushed out with pressing with the 5.56 NATO round.

@hunteraja Yes, getting the gas tube off some time needs a hammer. The AR really isn't anymore complex then most rifles.
