Sometimes living in Gary is like living in the old wild west. You have to take the law into your own hands because the police and the criminals are one in the same. Being a police officer in a place like Gary is not easy. They are never going to get rich, because they don't get much pay and they have to make life changing critical decisions quickly. Sometimes they make mistakes because they are only human. One mistake on a bad day can cost a policeman a lot. Save your money copper.
The chief did have to resign for having a suspect of robbing his home beaten. The problem with the Gary Police dept. is that most of them do not live in the city, because they are not required to. So they don't really care about our community. I have talked with several people who have gotten no help from police when they needed it. I on the other hand had someone crash into my car and the police immediately caught them. By the way I'm white; I wonder if that had anything to do with it.
Guess what.... The Fire Department never even showed up on the scene. Get all of the facts before you tell the story. The Fire Department did nothing. The officers did not find them but at least they tried. People are so fast to olace blame insted of looking at the real facts
Nicely done. It's really sad for the father to find his son. It seems to me the police drop the ball. After listening to the 911 tape, someone should have been reprimanded for not following through. Hope there is a internal investigation.
what was the outcome? sad story but the officerd definitely did not look on the assumption "i dont see how anyone could have walked away" after two did.
There was a possibility that their lives could have been saved! How is there no search for the two immediately after arrival on the scene and learning that there were two additional passengers?!
That is why I moved out of Gary the Police in Gary Indiana never do their job. I have to find and recover my own mini van by myself and found the thief and the Gary Police told me to just be happy you got it back and go home. They let the theif go eventhough they parked in front of their house and got out of my mini van. I hat Gary Indiana

That is why I moved out of Gary the Police in Gary Indiana never do their job.
