Too me that's whenever the light actually hits the picture, and the movie shows you a flash of it. It kinda sets up the tragedy of what befell the crew of Icarus I, as well as the creepier elements of the movie still to come.

Theres some weird scenes in this movie, in part 6 i think. Flash ligths, maniputaded by actors in hand lamps, are faces, human faces.
