  • I just saw the story on W5.That is unacceptable in a country like ours-Canada.last year we gave 1.9 billion to natives of this country when people are living in conditions i just saw?Cockroaches ,cutbacks in security, and crime are rampant.Enough.Dave miller has done nothing but ask for more money from the feds and raise taxes? No i dont think so.You fix these buildings and make them safe for people to live in.

  • You're right - many tenants live in unacceptable conditions. Problem is Toronto Community Housing has a $350M capital repair backlog from when province downloaded social housing (2001). But we're taking action to improve things for tenants - $550M for repairs since 2002, $1M/year on pest management, $13M/year on community safety/development, and now $111.5M investment in better housing/buildings. To finish the job, we'll need more financial support from all levels of government.
