@sirupate your not paying attention to what the video is about. it has nothing to do with the Gurkha brigade. It is a martial art called Bando, it teaches combat kukri tactics along with other weapons training. it is a burmese martial art. what your watching is bando intructors practicing a kukri drill session. that is all.

@sirupate ive seen some of the videos on the gurkhas close combat training with the kukri and from my martial arts experience and military experience, they dont move that well or coordinated enough with the weapon, they dont really seem all that skilled with it. Martial arts specialize in close combatives, thats wyh civilian martial arts instructors are always contracted out to teach the law enforcement and military units.
@realityfighting, LOL videos are one thing, the reality is very different, and if you have met and worked with Gurkhas, they must be hugely different to the ones I know and have trained with!
By disjointed, I do not understand why you keep putting the kukri back in its scabbard, the drill seems more of a ritual than anything else, and why the silly uniform?
Certainley from time to time in the British Forces people like myself are used for courses, the Gurkhas don't need that though!

The drill you do lacks soul and meaning, as for the uniform, everybody unto their own, but to me it just looks silly.
I thought I recognized that draw and stance. I've previously worked out with him at CBA. Frank R. and I are buddies from way back when we were both green belts.
What was all that about? its nothing like what the Brigade of Gurkhas do!
