if you want to melt it faster put half a metal can on it. and if it gets too hot ,take it off with a towel

Instead of putting wax on the naked bulb. Cut off the top of a soda can and place it on the bulb.

It smells absolutely awful if you leave the crayon stuff on the bulb and forget about it. When I was 9 years old or so I must burned out 2 lightbulbs per month in the same fixture...my parents were starting to wonder what that stench was and why they were going through so many lightbulbs...I lied to them and told them it was because they bought the TopCrest brand...and they bought the story...and I didn't stick things on bulbs for a while.
