  • im hearing the egypt part from super mario 64...

  • okey, i try out put something in english :) in travel, and still traveling through music from all over the world. Azam is great. for me, everything She touch become most beautifull things i can imagine. not finish for me is important, but traveling, searching. Azam's voice is something, i always return to Her, for voice and songs She touched. i don't want be a wisemen, i want to learn. even knowing this sentence - "A man learns through all his life and die stupid".

    PEACE from Slav country.

  • @krzem00 Man dies stupid because he stops learning and his learning here does not follow him to the other life.

  • I just love how Farsi calls the rabbit a "khar gush" - or in other words, that fuzzy ball of hopping is merely a donkey's ear:)

  • @therealshizuka It doesn't mean "donkey's ear", Khar in this case is an adjective, which means "great or big." So, it means an animal with big ears. Same way, in Persian we use "kharman," and that's why donkey's name in Persian is Khar, since Khar is an strong animal.

  • Great Song :) Please keep it up dear Niyaz! :) I love this song :)

  • Here is the history of this song;

The Hunt appears in Niyaz‘s self-titled debut album, and is a Farsi/Persian folk song from Khorasan province of Iran. Two hunters are out hunting; one is very keen on unleashing his greyhound upon preys like rabbits, deer, pigeons, pheasants and eagles, and the other one deters him from doing so, since these creatures keep reminding him of his beloved in one way or another. The chorus repeats again and again, each time picking up a new animal or bird.

  • Can someone please post the translation for these lyrics?

  • supppperrr!

  • It is true that the regions stretching from modern day Turkey to north India have strong links historically, culturally, commercially, racially, and linguistically. For example, I was amazed to find that Dari/Persian was the official language in north India and Pakistan regions for centuries until the arrival of British imperialists.

  • It's amazing that Niyaz is able to sing in Dari/Persian, Urdu, and Turkic languages! Also, their music with traditional instrumentals and poetry of old legends from that region mixed/fused with modern electonica (synthesizers) makes it very appealing... particularly to younger Iranians, Afghans, Pakistanis, Turks, north Indians, and Central Asians!

  • this is hot

  • کسی میدونه که نسخه اصلی این آهنگ از کیست و سروده کیست؟ چون مهران مدیری هم از این آهنگ در سریال "شبهای برره " سود جسته است

  • @EzyPizy

daghighan nemidonam az ki, vali ye shere bakhtiarie injory ke madare madar bozorgam mige ;)

  • Azam is so gorgeous! It makes me sad that none of my friends understand why I love her music. I don't understand a lick of what she's saying, but the emotion she puts into it speaks so much louder than any words in the English language. Thank you, Azam! I wish the youth of America can someday be more open minded about world music. By the way, your hair is amazing! Mine is longer but it doesn't look nearly as awesome as yours.

Side note: Is this in Farsi?

  • @angeleyes503

    yes

  • @angeleyes503 Yes Valerie it is Farsi s:P

  • Azam has a global universal reach with this voice and The Hunt for me is the most amazing song and piece of music ever created. Wish I could see this live one day. Welcome to Canada Azam!

  • Arabics best people and smartest people on earth ( they are men ) i am lebanese and Arabic and proud ...

  • @gorbehnare yes of course this song is farsi but lebanese government dont approve that women are 1/3 well if !! i dissagry cause i think women are smarter than man ! but dont know how to use their intelligence cause they are not smart ! :P the real life is : man are not smarter than women but they know how to use their intelligence because their smart ( but PS still women smarter ;)

  • @MrChopin2 stfu :P

  • @MrChopin2

    LOL

  • Love it!!!

  • Their music is beautiful and just what I was looking to dance to, modern enough to keep the audience listening with the beauty and mystery of the origins of the music.

  • she's a mason!

  • @mamo840 What do you mean?

  • Woohoo! Y'all rock my soul! Thank you! Thank You!

  • Let's go to the mountain.

    Which mountain?

The same that has deer, oh yes.

And my dog has a rope on its foot, oh yes.

Don't kill my dog, nor my rabbit, nor my deer,

For the grace of my deer reminds me of the grace of my lover, oh yes.

  • Let's go to the well.

    Which well?

The same that has pigeons, oh yes.

And my dog has a rope on its foot, oh yes.

Don't kill my dog, nor my rabbits, nor my deer, nor my pheasants, nor my pigeons,

For the flight of the pigeon reminds me of the flight of my lover, oh yes.

  • this is in Persian language the poetry from persian poet/philosopher OBEID ZAKANI and the music is original to rural parts of Iran many things from Iran are as well popular in afghanistan which has many persian speaking people this includes poetry, literature, music and dance. we feel very close to our afghani sister and brothers but do not confuse things here. persian poetry and literature is the apple of the eyes of most afghanis. this does not mean it is afghani. so lets cool it & be honest

  • I thought this was sung in Urdu?

  • @MultidimentionalLove It isn't Urdu. It is in Dari spoken by Afghans and understood by Persians.

  • can't get enough of this song!

  • Amazing! Been from Greece this music hits right at home! OPA!!!!

  • Can some translate this song.

  • @inkuban - it is extremely difficult as its all metaphor.

  • @inkuban

the basic theme is that it's almost a dialog, this is a condensed explanation:

one person says "let's go to this place?"

the other says "which one of those places?"

person one goes "the place with all the (whatever animal the place is known for)

then there's a metaphor i have no idea how to translate, i guess it comes out as "my dog has a rope on his foot"

then the stanzas end with "don't kill the animal of this place, for the characteristic of this animal reminds me of my lover!"

  • I think ,This is my favorite,Love you Niyaz.!With all my best wishes to you all..

Our heart is the same from East...

  • can leason Orange Blossom

  • tengo el CD y suena con la misma potencia q talento ... en vivo o en estudio , just, bravooo

  • Language?

Hey, who cares anyways? she rocks

  • Persian she is Iranian. Met her in New Mexico with her husband they were both really cool nice people...

  • Well, thanks for the info. I actually didn't know. But I still don't care, she rocks!

  • not bad

  • Oh, come to Australia... take away the racisim here with that sound!

  • this is not PErsien/Farsi, This is Dari. Its like persien but a lil´bit different. It´s an iranian language in Afghanistan.

  • of course it's persian language. prove it that it's dari.

  • i am the epitome of irony. i am jewish and im listenin to an arabic song...ironic times 10

  • This is not arabic, this is persian.

  • oops my bad

  • ethnicity is fake bullshit. Ti ruskii jevrei?

  • ya ukrainskij ivrei

  • @gleyzinator ITS NOT ARABIC!!!

    Its Persian

  • Great music, thanks!

  • Niyaz has a sonorous voice. Instruments are exotic and ancient sounding. Epic. I love the Persian language and its subgroups, they are so enticing.

  • I am happy to know you enjoy our music. But we are not exotic nor ancient. We are living in the present and our music is as timeless as Western music. It is worth thinking over the ways in which things non-western have been exotified and commodified on. Just a friendly note :0)

  • it takes u there,,,

  • perfect..

  • azam ali rocks

  • oh, how i'd love to see them live...

  • chi boudim... chi shodim

  • Sweetness!

  • Music is universal!

    Stop your nationalist/racist/ideologic discussion.

  • amen to that. people don't understand that there are no borders no origins no end to culture. it flows like ariver through regions groups of peoples etc...etc... Those who try to isolate cultures are often hypocrites and fascists, who will allways end up failing.

  • Agree with PeopleOfAr, people are people. It's just religions and political systems that try to separates us. We have much to learn and share in this great journey of life and we can't proceed if we build walls to each other

  • @PeopleOfAr

This is one of the most factual and beautiful comments i've read. Thanks for that.

  • @Hucking and the universe is just an extremely conplexed form of music

  • This isone of the oldest style of music in existance. Its the sort of music Nebucanezzar had in his court. He was jamming to this and postulating great wisdoms 4000 years ago. It still rocks

  • Beautiful song.

  • Arabs and Iranians shouldnt be confused with each other Iranians are full of riches remember that was Persia and this music is so hypnotic

  • And Arabs weren't "full of riches"?

How about you open up a book.

  • And no matter you like it or not Iran is an Islamic country, ruled by Sharia. If you're not comfortable with it, try to change it. Attacking arabs or muslims and claiming to be "pure ariyans" won't solve any problems. And I'm also aware of the fact that a lot of Iranians ara against it, but mojority seems to accept it the way it is. You hate wrong people, be angry with those who have destroyed your country. yashil17 might be one of them. He's the wolf in lamb costume:=))

  • This comment is toward those none Iranians who come on an Iranian or Persian video such as this, and attack Iranians/Persians:

Niyaz is Iranian; this is Persian poetry and music. This video is a representative of Iranian culture. If you don't like Iranians or their culture, history, etc watch something else. Mocking Iranians or Persians & watching this video at the same time just goes to prove you being a pathetic loser who watches something they believe is from an inferior culture.

  • The pathetic loser is the person who use this music, this culture to attack other people because of their nationalities and religions. There is no such thing as pure Ariyans anymore. Middleeast is a mixture of several ethnic groups. Arabs, Kurds, Turks, Persians, Eurpians, Asians have been marrying each other for thousands of years. The world will be a better place when morons like yashil17 relises this.

  • Although I do not understand a word, I love this group. Have bought their two albums and truly enjoy them very much. I wish I could know other similar groups.

  • Irfan is very simmilar imo. also a great band.

    example:

    watch?v=gcJyji7xiZI&feature=related

  • love this group

  • thank you. great great ...You are great....I'm dreaming away :)

  • 'The song is a dialogue between two hunters:

    "Lets go the field"

    -"Which field?"

"That field were the rabbits are sleeping"

-"Dont harm the rabbit, his sleep reminds me of the sleep of my beloved"

The song continues like that with hunter #1 suggesting they go to the field, the mountain, the garden etc, and everywhere they go hunter #2 doesnt want to kill anything because all of nature reminds him of his lover.'

  • realy..?!--->wO0o0oOW its beautiful(:

  • I honestly get chills when I hear these lyrics. Mainly because you can hear the same hunting song of rolling landscapes, mountains and chasing rabbits/hares throughout the Folklore of the World. The unity is overwhelming. If all you young men were hares on the mountain...

  • It's interesting that someone who is from the most islamic country in the world talks negatively about islam:)))

And why are you being so rasistic? Pure Ariyan? Are you sure? Didn't Alexander the great let 10 000 Makedonian soldiers fuck 10 000 persian women?:))) Anyway I'm neighter muslim, nor arab, I just hate your stupid attitude:P

  • what is the most islamic country?

Now dont come with Iran...Iran is the most unislamic country...its not islam, its pressure and false teachings.

Most Islamic Nation was Ottoman Empire: 600 years peace with jews and christians.

  • you dipshit, Iran isn't the most islamic country, it's been forced to have this religion and is now throwing it away, by risking their lives for it.

and plus there are many Iranians who dislike islam, like Bahram Moshiri, Omid Omidvar, Shayan Kaveiani, and Foroud Foladvand.

i'm being defending my race and culture from the Ahriman, something that you semitic douchebag can't do.

  • if you don't know history don't try to attack me using history,

Alexander the Great was an Ariyan shithead, the Ariyans settled on every land from England to Japan 14,000bc

and he was fond of the Persians, why because he was Ariyan!

    he married and Iranian/Ariyan lady

it's a shame that you have the pleasent and best religion as your user,

you aren't even a Zardosht, and your not following the rules you semetic muslim.

  • Bla bla bla bla, tell this bullshit to Ahmedi Nejad:=))))

  • @zarahustra: are you a kurd?

  • are you sick? Listen to this beautiful music and go home.

  • i'm not sick, i'm defending my culture, race, and this song from the douchebag gnomuk...

insulting me and this song, so if you are an Iranian or if you like this song alot, you would stop insulting me and insult that douchebag

  • at first, learn how to talk to people...you are hyperactive...i can see it in your behave...and second, i am turk, not iranian but thats not the problem.

You might have different opinions and beliefs but this does not give you the right to be impolite.

Iran is not true Muslim...its Schiism and Schiism denies that the beautiful Quran is complete.

This makes them to disbelievers (who believes that the quran is not complete) - Allahualeem.

  • You're as sick as yashil17, since you're using him for your Turk-Islam propaganda.

  • ah i see...you are supporting the kafir shah...well its normal that you are so unpolite.

  • what the fuck is the "kafir shah"?

do you mean the Pahlavi dynasties?

  • Its better to not engage with morons. yashil17 is a dog, and when a dog barks, humans don't bark back. There is no room for racist, ethnocentric ideology in this world. Niyaz ins't Iranian, Arab, Indian, Turkish, etc. They're messengers of love.

  • this song is sooo beautiful <3niyaz<3

  • Khaily ziba va ba ehsas.

  • beautiful

  • Azam Ali rocks.. so does this Niyaz album.. yum yum..

  • I love this album, and this song.

(Do people dance this? I'd love to learn)

  • This is Farsi..not Dari..This is one of the famous Persian song...she just re-sang it

  • Actually this girl is singing Persian/farsi. Now the song itself is sang in a dialect. I doubt its dari (Afghanistan) im not sure, but I have heard the original (Cant remember details). She is singing it with a farsi accent.

  • saz came from turkey.

  • Actually it originated from Armenia, the region of Anatolia (most of what is today modern turkey) was part of Armenia from around 4,000 BC, Turkey originated sometime in the 1100's AD

  • What language is this? Is it in Farsi?

  • This is Dari, people in Afghanistan speak this language, it's almost the same as Farsi. Kind of the same words with a different accent.

  • Can anyone tell me what the names of the stringed instruments that are being played (left to right) and if there is a good place in the states to purchase them?

  • The one on the left is an oud or ud. The one on the right is a baglama or saz. Don't know of any sources, but an excellent US based musician and consultant on Middle Eastern music is Karim Nagi.

  • This is really good....

Interesting that I heard this in a book store too...

You know what's freaking awesome? Niyaz is my actual name! :P

  • oooooh my gooood i didn't know that she is iranian thats sooo coool :D
