All of you arguing about Joey's bass,listen up! It's actually NOT a piccolo bass,although he has a piccolo bass that he uses for solos... But his main basses(including this one)were never piccolo. This particular bass in this song differs from "normal" basses only by the narrow string spacing and thin neck(of course there are pickups,electronics etc. but you are not arguing over that) And btw in 80's his main basses were "normal",modified Rickenbackers with normal spacing and normal neck!

Furthermore, I have to say that DeMaio and Lemmy, even if they both use distortion, have a totally different ways of playing, and Lemmy is the one who looks more like a bassist. Well, at least nowadays, because I absolutely love the old Joey's bass sound, that was a real kick-ass instrument.

Its called a piccolo bass, it has thinner strings and it's tuned 1 octave higher than a regular bass, also a thinner neck and "narrower" string spacing. It's not retarded, some people prefer the sound and playability.
