  • I miss Hitchens and his amazing debates.. Listening to him changed my life!

  • morality is doing what is right regardless of what you're told. Religion is doing what you're told regardless of what is right.

  • @aaronhapner1 Exactly.

  • He is quit right as far as Religion is taught, it makes no sense ,as he says. Men were created sick but so to learn that God is the Cure, God is the only Cure and there is no Other Cure but God.

Perhaps we need to rethink this Religion problem. The Man does have strong points that can not go ignored.

  • @Frank289100 I credit Hitchens w/liberating my from a 32 yrs. of primitive ignorant religious belief. I caught him at the tail end of an interview in which he said "Go study cosmology, quantum physics, biology, psychology, & neurology, if U really want to understand your world, yourself, & your fellow man." I did, & ended my belief as a Protestant Christian a year later. I'm now able to educate my children w/out regurgitating the ignorant dogma that my parents gave to me. I wish U the same.

  • @vetteluvnh Go study cosmology, quantum physics, biology, psychology, & neurology, if U really want to understand your world. So your trying to tell me from this there is no GOD. If anything it reinforces the existence of GOD. Science is GOD my friend. How could you draw a conclusion on something like this. Years back I was an Atheist and I assure you there is a Devil and he can't exist without GOD. intellectually where did we come from.

  • @Frank289100 You are a "religaholic" Frank. Nobody knows if there is a God. Your faith and belief may well be very strong, but that does not validate the existence of any God. The fact that Hitchens maintained his belief to the grave, is very telling. He was articulate and well educated and did not take the "easy way out". I admire his commitment and his honesty. Some years ago I myself nearly died, I can say with some experience that there is nothing there nor anything to worry about.

  • @Frank289100 Jim Warren Jones (a student pastor in Sommerset Southside Methodist Church) founded the "Peoples Temple" which resulted in the suicide of almost a thousand people in Guyana. None of it would have happened if he and his followers had not invested totally in unsubstantiated belief, (just like the 9/11 perpetrators)! People should ALWAYS resist the surrender of their critical thinking.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 He was a communist. He was a member of the communist party. Communism and Atheism are one. He used GOD's name to make money as a business man nothing more. GOD fearing men acknowledge HELL and fear the consequences of murder. This man did not because he was an Atheist and therefore there are no consequences.

  • @Frank289100 Communism and atheism are not the same thing at all. Atheism merely states that there are no deities. It makes no claim as to how societies should be economically structured. As for preachers and money - none are more "in it for the money" than America's televangelists who sell religion like Baskin-Robbins sells ice cream. My sense of empathy prevents me from wrong doing and murder - perhaps religious policing by a divine overseer is a good thing for selfish, inconsiderate people.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 I have many Hungarian friends and sadly enough they are mostly Atheist. The communist manifesto religion the opium of the people. Communism's whole foundation is based on eliminating religion. Without Atheism there would be no communism.

  • @Frank289100 Religious alcoholism and the relinquishing of ones critical thinking is no substitute for communism. In my opinion both are just as bad. Sensible, rational management of your mind and our country is what we need.......

  • I'm an atheist so don't percieve what I'm about to ask and the way I ask it as if I were a beliver.

Why does God need us to believe in him? If we're so insignificant beside him what difference does our oppinions and beliefs make? and if they do not matter, why the need of eternal torture as a punishment?

  • @byatora GOD allowed man to govern himself for years is never forced anybody to believe in him. The Jews fell into bondage to the Egyptians. At the time the only thing that existed was a acknowledgement of GOD. There were no ten Commandments and the 5 books of Moses did not exist yet. After the exodus the laws came. He let the Jews see first hand what can happen when you turn away from GOD. As for HELL stay a neutral Atheist. If you are wrong you will regret it for eternity. GOD exists.

  • @Frank289100 Threatening with eternal damnation in hell is what I would consider forcing. Either that or God is a terrorist by the very deffinition of the word.

as for wether there were ten commandments or not many texts account the matter differently, how do you know wich is real? what information have you got that I dont?

If I'm wrong you're right, I'll regret it but I simply refuse to live my life in servitude and ignorance out of fear what might be real or not.

  • @byatora I look at your profile and I can read you like a book. Almost everything on your channel relates to Atheism. What rational person would allow themselves to be consumed trying to prove there is no GOD and destroy his word means your doing something wrong. Your probably sucking cock and getting different cocks up your ass and hate what you are and me cheating on my wife means we are both sinners. You don't see me trying to erase GOD from life so I can sin. Flat out GOD exists.

  • @Frank289100 Yes, it is related to atheism. I find it odd that the modern man can believe in myths and fantasies based only on what's in a 2000 year old book that also includes storys of men living in fish. you cannot blame me for finding this interesting. what regards my involvment and motives you cannot even begin to guess, the injustices of religion are to numerous for me to count with only 500.

  • @byatora Are you a Queer who eats penis.

  • @Frank289100 As it happens I'm not. I'm a regular guy with a girlfriend and I'm awaiting our first child. What point are you trying to make? that only homosexuals can be atheists? if so you only prove my point of theists being narrow-minded and intolerant. And the fact that you attack my person instead of my arguments means you really can't defend or argue your own position.

  • @byatora It took you a long time to answer that question? You claim you have a child on the way. They say the children pay for the sins of the father. To raise a child without the acknowledgement of GOD is a very big mistake. When your child is born and if you want to see GOD just look into its eyes. Soon you will witness the miracle of birth and your going to tell me there is no GOD. Wake up.

  • @Frank289100 I have other things in my life that is of far more importance than arguing theology, it took some time becuz I was busy with life.

I do not acknowledge God, but it is up to my child to determine for itself wether to believe or not. I will teach him/her nothing accept for critical thinking.

Oh and btw, birth is not a miracle. it is the direct result of intercourse. every kid at ten years could tell you that, go back to school.

  • @byatora We have a male and a female XX and XY. The human body is complex in design and to say there is no GOD shows me your very limited and lack the intellectual mind. The other day I saw an Atheist friend on mine and ask him about the creation of the human body. His answer an intelligence created it but its not GOD after years of telling me there is no GOD he covers his stupid ass by redefining GOD. It seems to me his stupid mind is starting to wake up.

  • @Frank289100 Wow! that you can name the correct chromosone combination for male and female lends your argument that much more credibility... not!

and since when does recognizing the existance of god have anything to do with intellect? any moran with no brains can claim to sense god but studies show that the reverse, people with more intellect tends to not believe or at least believe with very secular ideas.

  • @byatora Use your intelligence and tell me how did the complex human body come into existence.

  • @Frank289100 Much like anything that's complex. with small improvments over a long period of time. read up on evolution. Suppose sciense were not able to answear this it still would not point to the existance of a god. There is no evidens to support that god created humans and if your going to cite the bible as evidens you might as well claim it's possible for humans to live in fish or for true believers to drink poison and survive since this too is written in the bible.

  • @byatora (Much like anything that's complex. with small improvments over a long period of time). How could you believe something like this and if so you lack the sense of reasoning. This computer would never be without man making it. Human life would never be without GOD creating it. Is it that hard to reason this. The smaller the mind you believe Evolution and the bigger the mind you laugh at it.

  • @Frank289100 I believe it because I seen fossils that supports the theory and dna examinations make the theory all that much more beliveable. It also explain diversity among race even though the races come from the same species. I also believe it because scientists are able to manipulate the genetic code giving the species new qualities. On the other hand I've yet to see one shred of evidence for god. tsk tsk tsk you got pawned again.

  • @byatora So there is no chance they are guessing, making it up or even lying for the research money. If these scientists are so smart how come they don't take those genius minds they posses and find a cure for cancer and everything else.

  • @Frank289100 No there's no chance. if they were they could not use their findings in experiments now could they? besides lying about scientific findings for research money is incredibly stupid since anyone with the proper equipment could dispute such a find. your argument can be turned though. what's to stop priests from lying about god. they recieve tax fundings for their religion and what's more, there's no way to disprove them. seems the better scam to me.

  • @byatora Its about THE CASH. My wife's uncle was a hit-man. As a little girl everytime her uncle visited her mother who was his sister. He always told her that a liar is capable of doing anything. These words came from the mouth of a killer. Over the years I realized what her uncle meant. From wars to politicians to scientists to researcher to doctors they all lie. The problems you see in the world today are all because of lies. Evolution is the biggest one.

  • @Frank289100 Damn! that you would even consider listening to a hit-man.

What war has ever been fought in the name of evolution? On the side of religion you have the crusades, suicide bombings, whitchburning, pursecution of homosexuals and not to mention the majority of all wars ever fought.

  • @byatora Evolution. The guy downstairs in the basement made it up. We have millions of species and man is the only one possessing this great knowledge and the rest of them are stupid. Wake up you dummy. I'm still waiting for my dog to talk. Stalin killed 25,000,000 of his own people to far greater extents then what the Nazi's did in the death camps. This dwarfs all holy wars combined.

  • @Frank289100 You clearly don't understand what evolution is about. It's not about being like humans. Even if dogs were to evolve and speak your own dog would certainly not. do you really think evolution is about change in ONE animal in THAT animals lifetime? read up on it before discussing it. besides what have stalin to do with anything? I asked what wars have been fought in the name of evolution contra religion.

  • @byatora Evolution was created by the guy downstairs to take the focus from GOD/Christ. Roger Morneau who wrote - A trip into the supernatural has a video interview on you tube. You tube Roger morneau - A trip into the supernatural. Watch the long interview and what he was told about Charles Darwin. Like Morneau I seen the supernatural forces at work as an Atheist 20+ years ago. I'm here today because GOD watched over me. You have no idea what is going on in this world.

  • @Frank289100 You still did not answere my question. What wars have been fought in the name of evolution? how many have been fought for religion?

Besides, you don't seem to understand what evolution is and until you do it's really ignorant to call it a lie. I've never claimed to know what's going on in the world but at least I don't jump to religious superstition trying to make sence of what I don't understand. bottomline, I only believe what can be proven.

  • @byatora The Crusades - Arabs who happened to be Muslim occupy and conquer land that was Christian and Christians retaliate to remove them. This war was fought because a group of people occupied and oppressed another group. They took what didn't belong to them. They didn't go onto a neutral battlefield and kill each other to prove Islam and Christianity is better then each other. It was about occupation. But Joseph Stalin your Atheist killed 25,000,000 of his own people. No occupation.

  • many people in religion got it wrong. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Say you repent and you don't go to hell. so sorry to say you're sorry???

  • @helperthrope

When you are able to accept the truth of your intellectual insignificance

in this universe and the truth of God's dominion you will be acceptable

in God's eyes and when you pass from this plane you will become part of

The Eternal Kingdom of God, If you choose not to accept the truth, proving

unacceptable you will become part of the Kingdom other than that of God.

  • @theetrue Religious alcoholism! You are smashed on Jesus. In no other field of endeavor do people behave like this. We advance in small steps increasing our knowledge and understanding, all the time humble enough that we do no know and will never know everything. Not you! You plug in a conceptual entity and "voila" all is explained. I have to wonder sometimes what century the US is in, as it's people seem to be stuck in a bygone era. THERE ARE NO GODS OR DEVILS THEY ARE ONLY IN YOUR IMAGINATION.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 You call yourself a rational mind. Look at the complexity of the human body and from your rational mind tell me where did it come from.

  • @Frank289100 We do not know exactly Frank. That does not entitle people to insert bogus explanations. Mitt Romney thinks God is a man who lives on planet Kolob! He is running for President of the US! That is absolutely unacceptable! Also, rationalists are not immoral. Morality is doing right no matter what you're told. Religion is doing what you're told no matter what is right! There are none more ignorant and useless, than those that seek answers on their knees, with their eyes closed....

  • @RATIONALMIND001 Someone had to create the human body and since you consider yourself a rational mind I would like you to answer me that question.

  • @Frank289100 I do not think we fully understand the answer to that. The on going dispute between the Creationists and the Evolutionists will continue until that question is answered. Both sides must be careful not to present as truth things that cannot be proven. I am personally more comfortable with evolution and you with creation. I do not like the idea that I exist on a celestial "ant farm" at the behest of some invisible and omniscient entity that demands that I worship it.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 Any which way you look at this its GOD case closed. Evolution is BIG BULLSHIT they don't have a leg to stand on. The human body is just too complex to not have a designer the same way cars, computers, planes and trains and all the rest of the man made machines had to have a designer. The origin of specie to a simple mind is amazing but to the intelligent mind its a joke. In other words BUUULLSHIT.

  • @Frank289100 Many people over the years have believed in many different Gods. I'm sure that you are an atheist when it comes to Poseidon, Zeus or Thor. It is imperative that "we the people" do not plug in an invalid answer just because it makes us feel good. The desire for a definitive answer is strong in all of us but our leadership MUST refrain from projecting unfounded belief. The consequences were exemplified on 9/11 when the perpetrators even overrode their own sense of self preservation.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 Do you believe there is a Devil.

  • @Frank289100 No. Not at all. I believe that God's and Devils are conceptual in nature. They are entities upon which humans have bestowed certain attributes to explain life itself and its attendant mystery and misery. I believe that man's purpose is for us to discover. We are not God's either, and nor do I want to be. People sometimes accuse non-believers of that. The misery in the world often attributed to the devil is all too often of our own doing and rooted in religious clanism.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 My foolish friend this place we both live in is called the Devil's domain. He is the ruler of this earth. Years back when I was an Atheist I witness the Devils existence and his power. I also witness GOD's power. I know the Devil not by reading but by true life experience. The knowledge I posses about the Evil one is extensive. GOD only invested enough power in him to do the Job he had to do. GOD is a mighty power and he also has a sense of humor. Your very wrong.

  • @Frank289100 And so the argument will continue until one day one side or the other can actually prove it's case. Did not the perpetrators of 9/11 do what they did because of "religious belief"? How about Jim Jones? How about Warren Jeffs? How about the Catholic Church? How about Ted Haggard? I base my life and values on respect, honor, verifiable truth, responsibility and empathy for those around me. I do not need or recognize God's or devils except as historical and conceptual entities.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 As for the Catholic priests who raped those children they were all HOMOSEXUALS. Years back mother and father expected the man to get married and have children and to carry on the family name. Since the Catholic church doesn't allow marriage your HOMOSEXUALS in order to avoid marriage used the church as a venue to escape marriage. Over the years HOMOSEXUAL men infested the walls of the Catholic church and used church walls for there perverted lifestyle.

  • @RATIONALMIND001 Second. Jim Jones was an Atheist like you who deceived these people to steal there wealth by murdering them. How am I right. If this had anything to do with GOD and religion he would have drank the poison too. He was a non-believer an Atheist which means no GOD no accountability for what he did murdering countless people.

  • @Frank289100 ROFL ignorant religious people, best entertainment there is

  • @MrPJ90 Lets put religion aside. No GOD means your a fucking animal. To believe Evolution just shows me you are one stupid group of people. Take one day of your miserable life and look at everything around you from the human body you posses to the sun trees and wildlife then ask yourself how can't there be no GOD. Don't tell me the big bang theory I'll shit in my pants on that one.

  • @theetrue Nice copy/paste job there. Incidentally, any god who would turn away his creation from heaven for exercising free thought and rationality cannot be said to be a just god. Faith is fear. You are afraid. This is not a bad thing. We came from nothing and will return to that state. It is terrifying but liberating. Live your life free from the shackles of religion. The world awaits.

  • @timchilli

Time for accountability: I'm going to take your comment apart

one sentence at a time: What was copied, and where was it pasted?

  • @helperthrope

There is no default when you have made a statement; you claim

God does not exist, prove it. And choosing to believe

something does not exist for lack of concrete evidence; foolishness.

  • @theetrue That is the most idiotic statement I have heard in a while. Prove invisible unicorns don't exist, prove flying spaghetti monsters don't exist, prove leprechauns don't exist. Choosing to believes something does not exist for lack of concrete evidence; science, critical thinking, rational thought, intelligence. You have a brain, use it, you are better than this.

  • @Seanjkbs

What is your point? You didn't say anything. You are

just blowing a lot of smoke. Do you believe God,

or a thing, can not exist if there is not evidence for it?

  • @theetrue Of course something can exist even if you do not have the evidence for it, but if you are just going to guess it exists with no evidence than you may as well believe in unicorns, leprechauns, and flying spaghetti monsters. It is completely irrational.

  • @Seanjkbs

Experience has proven to me, as soon as someone

says, it makes as much sense to believe in fairies,

f ing unicorns or whatever, it is an excellent time

to take care of business elsewhere, have a nice day.

  • @theetrue It's easy to disprove god. I've done that in my previous post. Which you cannot see. And nobody else can't see. But it exists. And in it I've proved without any doubt that there is no god. It's up to you to have faith that the post exists.

  • @trstenik100

You have proof God does not exist? I don't believe you

because you have no evidence. I have proof God exists and

the proof is the witness testimony of many recorded in the Bible.

Whether you believe that testimony or not is your decision, but

choosing not to believe is calling God and the witnesses liars.

  • People that have faith in the bible are lost.

  • I was brought up a strict catholic but realised some years ago that the basis of religion is the fear of death. People fear death so devise a believe that offers them eternal life.It is easy to be a good person without religion, infact the most violent and angry people I know claim to be religious.

  • @KGMDMusic Keep your faith. Set yourself apart from these Atheist lawless Animals. They think they can shit and piss on each other suck assholes fuck there brothers and sisters and be degenerate perverts and never worry about accountability. In the end not a single one of them will escape GOD. If you choose not to believe then just distance yourself from these Maggots.

  • @KGMDMusic Shakespeare: Death the inevitable end shall come when it shall come. If you have a true belief in GOD death becomes meaningless. As long as I know GOD determines when your time comes accepting death is so much easier. I was an Atheist years back. What I witnessed about the existence of evil will terrify you. Both GOD and the Devil exist. GOD is the power everything else gets its power from GOD for testing reasons. Life is a test.

  • Dr. House taught us that all people lie, all the time. so erase everything you think you know about god and religion, eat a bunch of narcotics, and sit there and ponder what you actually do know. like Descartes and his table of knowledge. if you come back to reality convinced either way, well, atleast you can say you made your own decision about it.

  • Religion: silliness at best, insanity at worst.

  • @dkthg

If you were at least half smart you would lose

Religion and its dogmas and get with the

inerrant truth of God's Word, Jesus, and The Bible.

  • @theetrue Thanx for proving my point. I hope you find logic soon, i will be thinking for you.

  • @dkthg

I'm sure you will not be thinking for me or yourself.

  • @theetrue Don't be so sure; that's you're problem to begin with. There is enough common sense to go around even for you. When you finally realize that faith is not a pathway to truth then you'll be free to think for yourself.

  • @dkthg

And when you realize faith is the path to the

Truth, then you will be free to think for yourself.

  • @theetrue "And when you realize faith is the path to the Truth, then you will be free to think for yourself." Once again, thanx for proving my original point. Faith over reason? Faith over KNOWLEDGE? To use your phrasing: If you were at least "half smart" you would realize that when you start to think and gain information that's when religion steps aside.

  • @dkthg

religion and organized Religion describe two different things, and I

am not speaking of either. And I am speaking not of the truth of the

physical world that we can see and test and all agree upon. I am

speaking of The Truth of the spiritual, unseen, God: recorded in the

Bible, and gained by having faith, acceptance, or belief of its being true,

despite evidence unacceptable to the scientific community, however

soon to be known by all. Are you trying to prove God does not exist?

  • Hitch was a $10 backstreet whore. He sucked Republican and Murdock's cock.

  • Hitchens the whore.

  • @yourtreat2 You must be Muslim. Only your kind hates women so much you use them to describe anything you abhor. Yet you want 72 virgins when you're dead.

  • @kadene2 You're a moron. Keep sucking Hitdch's dead limp dick.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAzza1121 "To not know about your opponent's world view and have properly researched its history is quite foolish."

So which is it with you? Do you not know about the scientific world view or are you deliberately abusing it?

  • @TheAzza1121 "Consider the famous thought experiment "The Physics of Santa. (Google it!) Clearly the reality of Santa is a joke."

Read Genesis. Clearly the reality of Jehovah is an even bigger joke.

@TheAzza1121"Why do so few people actually start believing in Santa as adults, as opposed to God?"

For the same reason one wouldn't switch from Windows 7 to MSDOS. They have upgraded their superstition to exploit their more sophisticated hardware.

    Your ad populum fallacy fails.

  • Rock on, Mr. Hitchens! Truth is immortal.

  • Religion is truly great to keep people stupid and fearing slaves.

  • it is a pity Mr Hitches has recently died. However that's life. There is no God and religion has a lot to answer for !

  • It is ironic that those religious debaters who like to believe their faith can be logically argued are enjoined by their Maker to trust in him and lean not unto their own understanding. In other words, eschew logic and reason, and embrace the primitive ideas and impressions of our ancestors who thought epilepsy was possession by evil spirits, who didn't know what caused a rainbow, thought the sun revolved around the earth and that woman was made from a rib of man. The debate is over.

  • Pathetic how an incredibly articulate and intellectual man such as Hitchens can miss the big idea by a mile. He's trying to reconcile the God of the Bible with all the worst of man's religions. Apples and oranges, man.

  • BRILLIANT. LUCID. CONGRUENT. BEAUTIFUL MIND.

  • Brilliant Hitchens you are immortal - interestingly a clip appears to the right on my screen at least; "On his Deathbed, the atheist prays to god" - it is cobblers; you will be thanked for upping its watch rate and all comments and reviews are disabled, so no right to reply then - doesn't this just sum up religious nuts?

  • Religion = extreme obsessive compulsive disorder

  • Long live the Hitch. Religion is epic fail!

  • This is the primary reason that the TRUTH and the answers are found with FAITH and NOT RELIGION. Without FAITH, there is no hope. What can you hope for, that you already have! THINK ur way out of that, "FREE THINKERS" LOL Impossible to have a relationship with anyone you choose to hate, ignore, and therefore, refuse to understand. Theres some "logic" 4ya, aye? Should be plain common sense also but obviously that is a rare commodity today as well! :) +++

  • @hevy99 Thought find cures to cancer, faith does not.

  • @thinkingguy87 *finds

  • Rest in peace, it's sad that such a brilliant mind has left us.

  • I HATE "Atheists", but Hitchens will always have my Heart. You just can't find anyone else more eloquent and capable of deflating the lie of religion than this man.

  • Stop feeding the trolls. Let the stupidity and the arrogance in their words speak for themselves.

    /Thanks for everything, Hitch

  • Christianity and its Arabic heresy Islam offer us the choice of two undesirable places after death: Hell and North Korea. And the choice is this: we'd better fall in love with the creator of Earth, Hell and North Korea and do his will, or he'll cast us into Hell to suffer torment forever and ever! The good news is if we love him and obey his will, we get to go to North Korea after we die. The bad news is...

if we love him and obey his will, we get to go to North Korea after we die.

    Hahahaha!

  • Amazing man. It hurts to see so much ignorance and stupidity but the atheist comunity is growing, there are more and more literate and educated people in the world so there is hope for a better future.

  • Dawkins+Sagan+Hitchens > The Holy Trinity

ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! :)

RIP Sagan, Hitchens...your words live on...Mr. Dawkins, Darwin would be proud!

  • A man of extraordinary honesty and integrity. A light of reason has gone out. Vale

  • that one guy who disliked this video will forever rot in hell ;-)

  • Good riddance, asshole. Thank you for smoking.

  • @432ps1 You say that, but he has now become more powerful that you can possibly imagine. A bit like Obi Wan Kenobi.

  • @jgsouter LOL. Hitchens died because he was yet another of the Tobacco industry's useful idiots. Even in death Hitchens is good for something: Serving as a bad example.

  • @432ps1 My best friend died of lung cancer and never smoked a day in her life. Neither did anyone in her household. Few of us will go as bravely into death as Hitchens did. What will you die of? Perhaps you should consider it.

  • @kadene2 And Hitchens was still a cunt.

  • @432ps1 He didn't really mind being called names, especially by the intellectually constipated.

  • @432ps1

Revelling in the death of someone. Hateful Christian cunt.

  • @UnknownUserName4267 arent christians supposed to not take joy at peoples deaths or be rude etc, its like they cant even stick to the most basic rules they have and lets not go into how they make whatever they want of the bible, anyway came here to say Hitchens was a wonderful man, RIP, its a huge loss for the world when someone this intelligent and capable of making a point goes ><

  • @Auron710 yes and its was also so very unfortunate that he wasted his talent on his crusade of non-sense. so very sad. +++

  • @hevy99 lol yeah taking real evidence and facts against ancient fiction that makes no sense, is poorly written and has no more proof than something like "the hobbit" is a waste of time -_- im not gna argue with any believers here anymore cus when they dont follow logic how can u win? u need intelligence to debate and argue otherwise u may aswel just say "i disagree" and leave it there lol

  • @Auron710 Yep. 2 bad ancient text agrees so well, scriptures that even describe findings of modern science & physics to a tee. simply saying i disagree is never enuf 4angry people who seek arguments where there simply, ARENT ANY! some how non-sence is seen as "logical?" LOL sounds more like insanity and delusion of dismissing TRUTH 4no good reason. Go pray2 ur "hobbit" if u think he can provide u salvation! pretty much demonstrates ur intelligence level, pride, arrogance, & LACK of FAITH. :) +++

  • @hevy99 i dont need salvation mate cus i dont need the approval of some thing that needs my worship and approval. and yeh faith is blindly following something with no good reason so i agree i have no faith as its stupid and desperate imo. but honestly arent u supposed to be nice to be? not snidey etc, not very christian of u. wel have to agree to disagree and i hate arguing online so i wont reply again

  • @Auron710 DO YOU REALLY THINK ALMIGHTY GOD SEEKS UR APPROVAL ON ANYTHING?? LOL! GOOD LORD! if thats not the biggest piece of flawed logic ive heard so far! what a dung load! So because im not tollerant of your hateful viewpoint and ignorant accusations and biased opinions, there is something wrong with my FAITH? half baked prejudice bs about how others r "supposed to b" according to you?OH excuse me. forgot. U are PERFECT. NOT a sinner. Totally slipped my mind! What was i thinking? LOL! WOW! +++

  • @hevy99 Of course God doesn't seek approval. He doesn't exist, therefore he can't seek anything. As for Auron710 Having a hateful viewpoint. Have you looked in a mirror lately? You spew out odium and hatred with every word you say.

Also, I don't think that Auron710 would claim to be perfect, but he is no sinner. Nobody is, because, by the dictionary definition, sin is a purely religious crime, offending some deity. So, as gods do not exist, neither does sin.

  • @Darwinsman sin doesnt exist? oh! forgot. ur a perfect atheist! what sort of hog wash is that? perfect dummy maybe! classic denial & head up butt thinking! just being honest! maybe im a post-modernist and humanist like you. i call it like i see it! Therefore its reality and truth! doesnt take rocket science to see through your flawed logic and nonsense. Suggestion: pull head out of rectum. Get some light and fresh air 2 the only few remaining brain cells. a mind is a terrible thing to waste! LOL

  • @hevy99 Speaking of flawed logic: ad hominem fallacy. Also, straw man fallacy.

  • @hevy99 Of course sin doesn't exist, except in religious minds like yours. It's a purely religious concept that doesn't appear in any secular code of law.

Of course, there's crime and violence and antisocial activity and that's dealt with by the civil law. But it's formulated to protect society as a whole while allowing as much personal freedom as possible. It doesn't consider in any way the concept of pleasing any supernatural deity.

By the way, I am a Humanist. You definitely are not.

  • @Darwinsman Correct! another "ISM" cause by FLAWED LOGIC! where do u suppose "LAWS" came from? OLD TESTAMENT! since ur such a "smart-humanist" (an oxymoron)) Try looking up sin in the dictionary. Humanism gave birth 2modernism. Was torn down by the Berlin wall. Was replaced by an even uglier creature, POST-MODERNISM! EXACTLY where ur @! Only as i look @ news or even right outside my widow, it somehow DOESNT SEEM TO BE WORKING! MAN SOLVES ONE PROBLEM AND CREATES TEN NEW ONES! so much 4 humanism.

  • @hevy99 Laws existed long before the bible, my friend.

  • @hevy99 Hilarious to hear believer disclaim aspects of non-belief as "flawed logic", when faith is not based on any logic, but embraces belliefs of our ancient ancestors during some of the darkest most ignorant periods of human history; a time when the lava that flowed from a volcano was thought to be the "lake of fire" that later evolved into the concept of hell. A time when epileptics were thought to be possessed by demons and women were accursed, for menstruation was a mystery.

  • @kadene2 there are no "aspects" of un-belief other than than absurd fear based reasoning. i find no humor in that whatsoever. my heart breaks for the lost. +++

  • @hevy99 Jeez. Faith has convoluted your reason. It was fear and ignorance that gave birth to the concoction of gods.

  • @kadene2 YOU HOPE! based on what? ignorant self loathing atheist reasoning of NOTHING? wow! like im anxious 2abandon my very real relationship with the powerful creator of the universe. Throw all logic and reason to the wind and jump on the bandwagon of uncertainty &certain death? Rejecting wisdom guidance, blessings, grace, redemption, salvation.....trade all that in for certain death, the grave and probably worse. For what? thats somehow logical? ur on ur own with that crap! cant say i envy u!

  • @hevy99 Hahaha! You are so full of fear. And perhaps you should let go of the word 'logic'. Your religion tells you to place your "trust in the LORD and lean not unto your own understanding". In other words, check your brain in at the door and let God do your thinking for you. So of course you can't reason...you're not allowed to! So it is easier to accept the claims of primitive Iron Age delusionists. You should get off the internet and send messages by carrier pigeons.

  • @kadene2 im not religious. buy a dictionary dumb ass. atheists think they call the shots and can claim what others think and believe only further proving their ignorance. ur not the first numbskull ive heard spew these moronic statements. ur all on the same bandwagon of bullshit and death. welcome to ur future fool. trust me, i dont envy u in the least. Christians pray for u to get a clue, but its like whipping a dead horse. u know the truth, seek it for urself. i have nothing more 2 suggest +++

  • @kadene2 im not religious. I follow TRUTH. Something you obviously have no clue about. Fear is the opposite of faith. Its textbook. only cowards are afraid of seeking GOD. Real men are warriors and will die for TRUTH. +++ so just because you can type and spew doubt and ignorance today rather than send a message in a bottle makes it more acceptable? u r goofy! :D

  • @hevy99 "Fear is the opposite of faith" my new favorite quote from you. I would argue that fear is faith. What is fear? Fear is an emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. Now why have faith in god? Is it really because it is true, by the way the definition of faith and of truth is quite literally perpendicular, or is it fear? Fear of punishment for lack of faith. If there was no punishment then whatever I believed would not matter.

  • @Reveletur thats because numbbskulls dont have anything better to do than create senseless arguments. Im giving you textbook definitions. i dont care what u think or belief. Argue with TRUTH and GOD all u want. Your the one who loses in the end. im done with you. go find another baby sitter. GOD BLESS+++

  • @hevy99 I do have to thank, for it's been quite fun the last week or so. Also, you might want to get a new dictionary if the one your using is actually saying that faith is defined as what is true. I still get a nice chuckle out of the elementary tactic of trying to make yourself sound more valid by putting the other person down. Talking to people like you reminds me of how religion poisons the mind. It teaches that critical thinking is a bad thing and faith is a good thing. Have a nice life.

  • @Reveletur laugh all you want. you are only hurting yourself+++

  • @Reveletur Your bible does not support your statements. It claims that "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom". And if what you say about "fear" is true, then God must be pretty dangerous. You are enjoined to fear him. Fear is not the opposite of faith, but the father of it. At the heart of all the incantations, the prostrations and the propitiations lies the fear of offending your invisible celestial supervisor, who you think has the power to award eternal life to his favorites.

  • @kadene2 I hope your not inferring that I'm a christian, which I'm not. I was giving, if you will, the existence of god credibility to prove the point that without some sort of fear, or threat punishment, religion would fall apart. I do not believe in the existence of anything supernatural. We are superstitious by nature, believing is easy for us. It is much harder to face the facts of our reality. Hope that cleared it up.

  • It is important, dear distinguished friends, to understand the linguistic problems of translating the Bible before dismissing it. From the Hebrew regarding Proverbs 9:10, the Hebrew actually eludes to "the flowings ("Yirat") of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom"... What flows from the Lord? His teachings and His character. "Yirat" from the Hebrew can also be translated as "fear", as in "dread, apprehension and awe." The full context of the words in the text give them immense depth.

  • @TheAzza1121 Tell your "Lord" to keep his "flowings" to himself. Especially the "shock and awe", sorry, "dread, apprehension and awe.".

  • My comment was a note on translation and linguistics. Not proselytism. There IS a difference (because I have done both). It's reasonable and logical to assert such a point. Christianity has lost a worthy opponent in Hitchens, because he still at least acknowledged the existence of Christian intellectuals, and knew of the well established and ancient discipline of Biblical scholarship. To not know about your opponent's world view and have properly researched its history is quite foolish.

  • @TheAzza1121 I do not need to "properly research" the history of Santa Claus to know that it is made-up.

  • On the contrary, if you don't properly research something to disprove it, you are relying on assumption, which is contrary to the New Atheist movement's most hallowed and sacred concept: Reason based on objective, physical evidence. Consider the famous thought experiment "The Physics of Santa. (Google it!) Clearly the reality of Santa is a joke. Thus to paraphrase David Robertson (The Dawkins Letters): Why do so few people actually start believing in Santa as adults, as opposed to God?

  • @TheAzza1121 The burden of proof is one making the claim for the positive existence of X. It is not for the other side to prove that X does not exist. To prove something you need indeed evidence.

And the objective, physical evidence for any religion is?

Null, zip, zero, nada, zilch, none whatsoever.

  • @TomFynn However... We've not always known that bacteria exist, yet the evidence of their existence has been shown throughout history in the form of yoghurt, vinegar and bubonic plague etc. If I am to believe that God made "everything", then "everything" I see around me is sufficient evidence of His handiwork. What we experience with our senses also doesn't finally determine the irreducible truth about the origins of "everything", because our senses are limited.

  • @TheAzza1121 Hindsight is 20:20. And "everything" is not falsifiable, therefore useless.

PS: "What we experience with our senses"...you do know about SEM, AFM and WMAP?

  • I did Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy in the second year of my Chemistry degree. This is such a crazy idea, but it works! The monatomic tip of the needle is much smaller than even the visible wavelength of violet light, and can be knocked off by single atom height variations in the sample's surface. Quantum theory states existence in terms of probability (Heisenberg Uncertainty), and atoms are full of empty space, so it's a wonder anything is experienced as existing at all!

  • @kadene2 lack of faith is beyond fear.its down right ignorance and stupidity.

  • @kadene2 Absolute bullshit, you are a disgrace to the human species with that nonsense, this dudes brilliant and you know it!

  • @surrfers73 i think u misunderstood what Kadene2 was saying, he was challenging, and successfully destroying, a religious idiot who tried to disprove this video and the great Christopher Hitchens. he's on your side dude, he wouldnt have so many thumbs up on an atheist video if he was disputing atheism and bashing this video.

  • @kadene2 oh by the way. 21 gun salute for ur fallen hero. we prayed for him too but i cant say i miss his mission of spreading propaganda, blasphemy, hate, lies and deceit for the purpose of corrupting young minds. but then again, im not JESUS. he has more patience for hate and blasphemy than i do. +++

  • @hevy99 You should get off the internet and use carrier pigeons or smoke signals to send your messages. Hitchens' brilliance is immortalized in an asteroid named after him. Your intellect however, is like unto a lump of coal, and no one will remember you after you're gone. You think peppering your statements with "dumb ass", "moronic" or "bullshit" make your inanity any more believeable? Give it a rest.

  • @UnknownUserName4267 Hitchens dided a happy man. He got his flowers and heard his eulogy before he died, in the many tributes paid him. He even got an asteroid named after him, and was told this before his eyes closed. Ages from now his name will live on as part of the atheist avant-garde. How many of us will know we have a definite appointment with death and be so brave? So let the coward Christians revel. We all stand in the death queue and sure enough, our day will come.

  • I don't believe in gravity because It does not fit my worldview where I will spend the rest of my eternal life drinking beer with the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I shall now resume my indoctrination of telling children to become pirates otherwise they will burn in torment forever. Cheers.

  • Religion is insanity but hitchens' smoking, boozing and gay sexual romps were not? Stupid man hitchens.

  • @jpgrygus Yes. Far more insane.

  • @jpgrygus It was a brilliant display of free will, and devotion to experiencing life on a grander scale than any religiously bound person could ever do...

  • RIP im sorry this happened you will live on forever

  • @hevy99 please go troll somewhere where more gullible people exist. Evolution is the most supported and widely agreed upon theory in modern science. Quit slandering Darwin, he never expressed any doubt about what he had observed in his lifetime. Evolution doesn't even try to explain origin, that's abiogensis, but you're so blinded by religious dogma that anything that even hints to the fact that we're not "the apple of god's eye" absolutely makes you crazy. Abandon your fairy tales, please.

  • @testosteroan ok sperm worshipper. one more time. Reseasrch Dah-wins CAMBRIAN DILEMA and CAMBRIAN EVENT before making a further ass out of yourself ok? geez! a mind IS a terrible thing to waste! LOL +++
