I considered studying Kendo a few years ago, only to be told by the sensei that because I was left handed with my sword hand that he wouldn't even try.
Eh!! I'm left handed and been doing Kendo for seven months, its tricky at first - but not possible!! Never take no for an answer give it a go. Historically left handed people were regarded as 'evil', and only right handed people were accepted. But that was in the past, don't let that stop you from pursuing your dream. Good luck
My former sensei (sempai to be exact) was lefthanded. It never made his kendo any different. He says it was actually easier at first because it was easy to let the left hand dominate. So there really is no reason to let your left handedness affect your possibilities to do kendo.
im left handed when i handle shinai, and was told the same thing by the san diego kendo club. you should chek out my videos and see how it worked out for me
i like the part where it says "pointy thing" on the tools list. lol
