It seems strange to me that when it serves their purposes, Christians (any religious zealot really) will support the same things that they may have denounced in their very last sermon. It is no surprise, but it needs to be called out when it happens. I know that not all Christians preach hate, but those that do should be publicly named, so people can know exactly what their ministers (etc) are doing.
