@MeLlamoBradly Every year the state you live in has a tally on how many animals are in a particular area. Based on those number they issue hunting tags to hunters to reduce the numbers if necessary. Mountain Lions in some parts of the country kill off the deer population so the state gives enough tags to keep them in check. This way you save the deer and mountain lions. Hunters go after them mainly for sport, some out of necessity.
I have NEVER heard of anyone eating a lion until recently on another channel - its absolutely disgusting - Some say their overpopulated I don't by that - I was reading and at-least in Calif with all the freeways etc lions aren't finding each other during mating season thus the ones in southern California could become endangered..

The mountain lion population is increasing over most of its current range. This is due to two factors. 1. Food availability and lack of hunting pressure. The increased cougar population creates problems. --A decline in wild game populations --An increase of livestock and pet losses. --The spread of disease by predators and of course the big one ---- Attacks on humans. For example, recently I started trapping coyotes. I don't think the traps are humane nor do I like killing something just to kill it, but they have no natural predators here and they are overpopulating. DNR encourages their extermination by any means necessary.

@MeLlamoBradly Every year the state you live in has a tally on how many animals are in a particular area. Based on those number they issue hunting tags to hunters to reduce the numbers if necessary. Mountain Lions in some parts of the country kill off the deer population so the state gives enough tags to keep them in check. This way you save the deer and mountain lions. Hunters go after them mainly for sport, some out of necessity.

@91319 I have never hunted a Cougar and never said I had, but infact I have several friends that have, and yes they do eat the meat. They also said it was one of the best meats they have ever tried. And yes when I am able to hunt a cougar one of these days I have every entent to eat what I harvest otherwise I wouldn't shoot it.

The mountain lion population is increasing over most of its current range. This is due to two factors. 1. Food availability and lack of hunting pressure. The increased cougar population creates problems. --A decline in wild game populations --An increase of livestock and pet losses. --The spread of disease by predators and of course the big one ---- Attacks on humans. Nice shooting guys and enjoy those cougar steaks. Science, Common Sense and Reality win again!

At the same time, I dont judge, like any animal on the earth, its law of nature that the hunter in the vid has all the right to HUNT the lions, its law of nature, he is a stronger being in that forest.
