  • THIS STUFF MAKEN ME VVANNA MOVE!

  • Like a boss

  • I feel bad for being born in the era of dumb music.

  • @zinnoy I'm glad there's someone out there who feels the same way :(

  • Just love it!

  • I am 14 and listen to all kinds of music including metal and punk but I still love jazz. It is that awesome.

  • love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gives me goosebumps :-)

  • It is said that Glenn Miller never really liked this song, but his wife did. He performed it just before he went missing. I always wondered if this haunted his wife when she heard it. War is tragic. Glenn Miller was a major loss and affected the morale of the entire country. I'm glad we have his bands recordings to remember the age when America took the brunt of the assult on freedom just as we are today.

  • The Greatest Generation had the best music.

    God Bless them.

  • Why make such a big deal about one's age? I'm sixteen, the music's good regardless, and I don't see what's so impressive about liking it. It's original, refreshing and generally brilliant.

  • @TheFacelessActivist The reason that so many people make a big deal about young ppl that like this, is b/c SO MANY young people these days listen to "music" is nothing more than LOUD NOISE that most musicians can't find or follow any sort of melodic line!! But I really am glad to see a whole new generation learning to love this truly exceptional music!!

  • @DFTMAlamoAngels

Fair enough, but, I think it has little to do with that as much as it has to do with isolationism. I mean, I've traveled in most places within Europe, such as Germany, France, Austria, Scotland, etc. I tend to explore things, and so I came across this music. It's simply a matter of self-indulged socialism, or "trends" as some would call them. Either way, a lot of people probably likes this music, they're just afraid of treading outside of their little cultural cul-de-sac.

  • I love this, and most of Glenn Miller's music, especially "In the Mood" and "A String of Pearls"!

  • ShamBamWaffle813 Amen sister

  • Sham Bam me too !!

  • Thank you very much for putting this on YT. I have searched for years for this version. I'm 46 and the last time I heard this was in the late seventies. What I liked most about it was the slower tempo and especially, the brilliant cornet solo. I am a happy bunny tonight :)

  • I agree ChisatrapX, This takes me back to very happy, and very cosy times.

As you say, you don't hear this version very often.

BTW, Are you in B,ham tonight?

  • I have heard many versions of this song, this is one of the best. Sounds great!

  • I had this version of LBJ on a cassette tape, and wore out the tape...I haven't heard this version (my favorite) since. THANK YOU for posting this!

  • WOW. Thanks for posting this :)

  • I'm only a gal who is 44 yrs. old but have always found Glenn Miller to be my all-time favorite music!!! Definitely not like the awful boom boom noise you hear rumbling out of automobiles these days. If there were such a thing as a time machine I would travel back to this era and remain there.

  • I agree with you 100%

  • @ShamBamWaffle813 - AMEN TO THAT ONE!! I can't stand the BOOM BOOM noises that kids play on their radios these days!! It is horrible when you are at a red light and one of them pulls up beside you and their radio is SO LOUD that you can feel your BONES VIBRATE!!

I swear... no body teaches them ANYTHING about DECENCY & MANNERS!! Most people (if they had ANY MANNERS WHATSOEVER) would consider that maybe not everybody likes to feel their BONES VIBRATE b/c you are playing your radio SO LOUD!!

  • @ShamBamWaffle813 hehehehe you act soo ooooold

  • That's Bobby Hacket on cornet along with a great solo by Tex.

  • My grandfather would like this version, almost as much as I do.

  • glad to do it! comments lk these keep me uploading. thanks for watching!

  • Thank you so much for posting this definitive version of "Little Brown Jug". As with many of my generation, I heard his music after he died. There is no doubt nobody will ever do what the did in the short time he was popular. His hits were amazing. Thanks to him I began listening to the Goodmans, Clintons, Elgarts, etc. It was a great musical era from the late 30s through the mid 50s and thanks to folks like you putting this great music on youtube it will live on. Thanks, again.
