  • One of the smoothest voices in history. I don't think anyone will ever sing the Christmas Song to suit me except Nat King Cole, and this is pretty as well.

  • @insman1976 I agree with that 100%. It is not even Christmas season for me until I hear that song. He has THAT song on lock.

  • What a great version! So effortless, I love it :)

  • Love Nat King Cole..I just sang Smile in my recital and did a book report on him.

  • king cole queen simone

Nat is a great singer, but the Nina Simone's

    version is much better

  • LOve Nat. Love this version of the song too.

  • Would rather hear Nat by himself, sorry Woody.

  • thank you. and i have to agree with the Nina Simone comment. not better just her own.

  • ty spotgreen :D

  • Great guitar too.

  • This is a duet and Nat is only one of the voices. Who is the other?

  • Woody Herman

  • woody herman

  • perfection,rip nat.

  • I love Nat, and this is cool in his "Nattish" style, but I have to say, Nina's version hits it out of the ballpark.

  • wow.. to cool thx!!!

  • Thanks for share this marvelous version.

It inspired me to make my own with the LUCKY DUCKIES. Watch the video response!

  • Hello Folks, The Nat Cole trio had Oscar Moore and Moore's brother so..... They played with Charles Brown after wards. This is great! Thanks for posting. Jay

  • Hard to imagine that Nat was just a studio piano player. Story goes that a singer didnt show up for a session and they asked Nat if he would sing. The rest is history.

  • wow, really??? thats amazing :)

  • @md1960md Your facts are wrong. Nat Cole was a performer from the start. He was never a studio musician. He followed in the footsteps of his older brother Ike and younger brother Freddy followed Nat.

  • @calvinbeckett True, but he did sometimes work as a session musician...

    Everybody had to eat...

  • Always a pleasure to hear Woody Herman singing...and this duet with Nat Cole is just wonderful.

  • wow, never knew he did it.

sounds like Herb Ellis on guitar, but probably isn't :)

  • frankie lymon did a great version of this song too. on his london palladium album.

  • Who's that singing with Nat?

  • That's bandleader Woody Herman...

You can find this track on the 1992 Capitol Blue Note release, 'Nat King Cole - Jazz Encounters'.

  • I am not a jazz fan, but that was lovely.

    Thank you for posting.

  • Nice song by Nat. He sounds so young. Thanks for posting.
